High Quality – passed the thump ring test and the spin up test Grinding wheels in general are very dangerous. The heavy spinning weight contains a lot of kinetic energy. If a grinding wheel fails at high speed, the flying away parts can cause great bodily harm or even death. I am always afraid of grinding wheels. I am especially afraid of brand new unproven grinding wheels. Before installing a new grinding wheel, I hold it in one hand and give it a gentle thump with the back of my gloved hand. A safe wheel will sort of ring in your fingers. It will not ring like a bell, but you can feel that the wheel is solid. A from the factory cracked wheel will feel weird and give funny feelings when you hold it in different positions and gently thump it. You MUST NOT install a cracked grinding wheel because it will shatter when spun up. If you drop a grinding wheel, you must throw it away because you might have caused it to crack imperceptibly to the thump test. This wheel passed the thump ring test. I installed it and turned on my bench grinder while standing well to the side wearing full protective equipment: leather apron, eye protection, and gloves. This grinding wheel spun up with no problems. I used the tool holder and gently pushed a piece of soft metal against it. The grinding wheel worked flawlessly. This is a very course 60 grit grinding wheel for course fast metal removal. ... show more

This is just your basic 6-in by 3/4 of an inch grinding wheel. You get the grinding wheel, along with the reduction rings to fit most bench grinders. I didn't need the dress it after installing it, it was pretty much true. And it did not seem to make the grinder itself vibrate any more than normal. So far seems good. ... show more
