It didn't work as well as my idoo system, HOWEVER, I didn't notice the film over the lights....I removed it, but i'll have to wait to see if it helps. The sponges started growing algae on it and the seeds didn't germinate like they did in the idoo. I think it was probably the film diffusing the light somewhat even though it was clear.....but some things germinated and grew. I transplanted and they did fine. If my fall crop does better, I'll come back and update my review if I can find it. ... show more

The LETPOT is a great indoor hydroponic garden. It was extremely easy to set up and I am already on my 2nd round of planting. With the first round I was able to have basil, cilantro and dill that grew so well that I harvested 4 times!     • No hydroponics experience?- this is probably not for you

Large learning curve - if you’ve never done hydroponics I suggest you research a lot before starting or have a high tolerance for frustration. Things don’t seem to grow any faster or better than in pots in dirt and in fact if had more die in this thing than live - first and second round of seedlings molded - third round 2/12 sprouted - constantly scummy water- don’t forget to check and change - the inserts are really tiny and tapered so very hard for transplants or things with slightly larger roots - I wish there was one dimmer setting on the light - so three brightness levels instead of 2 - the brightest is very bright No issues so far with motor- I clean the filter when I change the water bit changing the water is very hard because you need to invent some sort of other stand to hold your plants with roots hanging down to clean the tank- I’m sure some of this is experience- but I’m also confident if I had experience I probably wouldn’t have bought this one - So it functions! If you know how to do it! But so far like 2/50 things I’ve tried have actually worked (chives and lettuce) ... show more
