I really like the shape of these dishes; especially the rims around the plates. It makes the entire surface usable and helps to prevent spillage. The coffee color rim is a nice, tasteful touch. The dishes aren't super heavy stoneware, but they are heavy/thick enough for home use. And, for the quality, they are surprisingly affordable. They look good, feel good in the hand, and are nicely simple.

If you like stoneware, these might be the plates for you. They look exactly like the photos and appear to be excellent quality. Please note the the plates are extremely flat - like completely flat - with a lip. It doesn’t bother me, but also note there’s a slight indent in the middle of the plates. The large plates are LARGE. They can fit a lot of food. Just because they’re flat doesn’t mean you can’t serve food that typically goes in a bowl. We put pasta and salads on these plates all the time. I love the bowls too- they’re great for ice cream, soup, cereal, etc. As with any stoneware, be careful, they’re fragile. We accidentally dropped one bowl from a good height and it shattered. They’re otherwise very durable and do very well in the dishwasher. Great product!

These are nice dishes. My only complaint is that the plates have a bit of a lift and dip in the center, they are not flat across. Other than that, it's a nice set to have. I like the raised lips on the plates and the bowls are a great size as well.

I really liked the dishes, they are made of high-quality thick raw materials, the surface is slightly rough, matte, each product is quite weighty, not light, with thick edges, the soup bowls are very deep and comfortable. mugs are also roomy, they sit quite nicely in the hand, I recommend

This dish set is incredibly sturdy and stain resistant. I have put the reddest of sauces on these places, and they never fail to be wiped clean. The bowls are a bit smaller than I expected, but perfect for rice bowls.

This dish set is really beautiful and very well made. They are the perfect neutral for me and I love the raised edge. These go beautifully with just about anything I pair them with which is exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend this gorgeous set of dishes, well worth the money.

All pieces are usable! (No cups or saucers that will go unused like in so many package deals with dishes!). The larger plates make a great dish to have juicy foods (like spaghettis or lasagna where the sauce often threatens to slop off of a standard flat plat. By the way, the "lip" is just about 1/2-inch deep. The bowls are good and deep for soup or cereal. And the smaller plates make both excellent side-salad plates, or covers for the bowls when heating in the microwave (keeps stuff from "spitting up" onto the top and sides of the inside of the microwave). They look elegant, in a modern way. With the lip, they can also be used as candy dishes, or a place to throw the house and car keys when you come in from outside! But we will use ours in the traditional way: everyday china for meals.
