Most people when they buy a set of dinnerware, will use that same set for years and years and years. That's just what people do. But if we are going to be using the same dish set for say 10 or 20 years, or more, why not use the most beautiful dishes that money can buy? This set of Lenox dishes is certainly pretty. And of course, anything Lenox is well-known for their high standards in all that bears their name. While this dinnerware definitely is on the costly side, is it really unaffordable? I don't think so. When I think about how I will use these dishes for the next 20 years, I will be paying Less than $10 per year to have the very Best (and Prettiest!) dinnerware available anywhere! That is why I think these dishes are a dinnerware set that we should treat ourselves to. All of the pieces have gorgeous wild herb flowers and dainty insects fluttering around, on a pristine bright white porcelain background. Each of the 3 dish pieces has their own special insect as it's theme, which is as follows: (1.) Each dinner plate is adorned with familiar orange/black monarch butterflies. These generous plates weigh a hefty 1 lb. 8.8 ounces each. (2.) The rice bowls, or cereal bowls as I prefer to call them, have swallowtail butterflies that are yellow and creamy white in color. These bowls look like they couldn't hold much, but their capacity is actually 18 ounces, which is over 2 cups! Plus each individual bowl weighs 9.6 ounces. (3.) The salad plates, or accent plates, are decorated with white/blue spotted dragonflies and each one weighs 15.4 ounces: Almost a pound apiece! This Lenox Butterfly Meadow Dinnerware Set is a set that can be counted on to last for years, while making every meal more enjoyable and even more pretty. I can't recommend them enough. ... show more
