    • Great machine - 80% notebook, 20% tablet

I am a construction project manager, so have multiple excel sheets, email, web browsers, large PDF files of various drawings at the same time. Handles multitasking well, good keyboard, snappy finger print reader, good battery life so far, good screen, etc. One thing to note is that the screen is brighter than I expected. Many of the review youtube videos mentioned that the only weak point for this machine is the screen being not bright enough, so I was a bit concerned about that, but it is still bright enough to review drawings on site. Of course, it is not as bright as my iphone, but bright enough to see drawings, texts and images clearly outside on a sunny day. If it is not for an art work that requires accurate colour correction or something, it won't be an issue. This is a great notebook that can be folded back to serve as a tablet when you really need it to. I don't work on a tablet mode, but when I am going around site checking things against drawings or specs, being able to hold the machine in a tablet for is really helpful. I wouldn't say it is a great tablet. It is rather too heavy and large--it could be a better tablet if you get 13inch model, but I don't know. The aspect ratio also is not suitable to be a full time tablet. It is a bit long to hold it in a portrait mode. And the fact that you have the keyboard and trackpad on the bottom is not very comfortable when you are holding it or setting it a dirty or uneven surface. I would recommend this machine for anyone using the machine primarily as a notebook with an occasional need to hold it in a tablet form. A great machine I am very happy with. ... show more

I've been using the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 for a few months now, and overall I'm impressed with its performance and features, although I've found one major drawback that affects the tablet mode usage experience. The performance of this 2-in-1 is remarkable. The AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor along with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD provide fast and efficient performance. Everyday tasks, multitasking and demanding applications run smoothly, and the 14" Full HD IPS touch screen delivers sharp images and vibrant colours. The 2-in-1 design is convenient and the ability to rotate the screen to use it as a tablet is a feature that initially excited me. However, this is where I encountered a significant drawback: after a few months of use, the touchscreen began to have problems. I can't use the laptop in tablet mode because the screen seems to get damaged or doesn't respond properly to touch in certain areas. This issue has been a big disappointment, as one of the main attractions of this laptop is its 2-in-1 capability. As for the rest of the features, the backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader are useful additions that improve the user experience. Connectivity with USB-C ports, HDMI, and the webcam are good, and the Windows 10 Home operating system offers a familiar, easy-to-use interface. Battery life is decent, but not exceptional. I can go several hours with moderate use before having to search for an outlet. In short, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 is a stellar performing laptop, but the issue with the touchscreen significantly affects its usefulness as a 2-in-1 device. I'll keep it simple and short. # What to I use the laptop for? - Programming and Ethical Hacking, overall great for it and the touch screen comes in handy. # Performance PROS - Quiet fans, and no over-heating like the macbook toasters, very fast laptop, long battery life and fast charging. # Build Quality PROS - Sweet and nice texture, light as a feather, minimalist design. CONS - It feels fragile and cheap but it's okay unless you are someone destructive. # Screen PROS - Nice colors, touch screen and anti-spy camera. CONS - Definitively the brightness is not for outside work. # Keyboard PROS - Good, pleasing texture and sound.     • Most useless laptop I've ever bought in my life

This laptop seemed to work just fine when I bought it. Then, about a week after I received it, the network driver disappeared entirely, meaning I couldn't connect to Wifi or even see my network at all. I tried everything to fix it, but even when I got the driver re-downloaded after a long and arduous process, it disappeared again not 24 hours later. Frustrated, but thinking it was a fluke, I returned the faulty laptop and purchased another one of the same. That second laptop worked for a week, and then broke in exactly the same way. Now, I don't have ethernet in my apartment, and even if I did, a laptop without the ability to connect to the Wifi is as useful to me as a slab of concrete. I'm immensely frustrated after going through a weeks-long process of getting a new computer, and I would like for sales on this item to drop, not only because people should be getting laptops that work, but also because I'm full of spite and I wish failure on whoever made the decision to sell this product. Except if you are intending to run simultaneously many high demanding softwares or play high graphics games, the notebook is excellent for everything. Touchscreen works very well, touchpad is excellent, battery is pretty fine, keyboard is lit, RAM and SSD are of the finest quality and manage to run many open browser tabs and programs effordlessly. I highly recommend this notebook as it is surely a good deal for 99% of people. ... show more
