  • Totally Adequate
I had a clear, and frankly very low expectation of what I was getting and this actually came in a bit higher than that. I needed a cheap and rugged laptop for a moped journey across the sahara desert that I could still get some work done on. I'm a game developer but the games I make are really lightweight. I just needed a really long battery for 13+ hour flights and really just something I could write some code on. I also needed it to have a webcam and run Skype, Discord, & check stuff like email. Bonus points for smooth youtube video playback. It wound up ticking all of those boxes for me and then some. Laptop showed up with some expected battle damage but only cosmetic and very minor. A few scuffs on the outer shell and a light spot on the screen that you can really only see when the screen is black where some doofy little kid probably mashed their finger into the touchscreen too hard or something. I'm really overstating it though, I didn't even notice it until a week after I got it when I was rebooting and the backlight popped on with a back screen. Total non-issue in daily use and you can't see it with literally anything else on the screen. Overall this thing is super rugged though, clearly designed to be tossed around. Performance was better than expected. I remember how bad netbooks were back in the day but these mobile processors have really come a long way since then. Video playback at on youtube is perfectly smooth with no dropped frames and Windows 10 loads really fast thanks to the m.2 SSD. It also runs Blender 3d surprisingly well for low poly stuff which I wasn't expecting. Digital art on a 1920x1080 canvas in Photoshop CS6 64 bit is a bit too much for it, using texture brushes with the stylus is just too CPU heavy and it lags behind for a while to draw your brush strokes even if you're working with one layer. Not a huge problem for me but if you're buying this to use as a dedicated drawing tablet for anything beyond basic sketches with stock brushes don't expect it to perform well, or even at all depending on your needs. Also the stylus that it came with is junk, the one pictured in other reviews is the one I got too. Afterward I ordered the original stylus with pressure sensitivity that fits into the slot on the side from Lenovo's website for $40 though. Video editing is also a no go with the CPU again being the bottleneck. You could use it in a pinch for small stuff but don't expect to have a good experience if your expectations are too high. It also runs Godot game engine well enough and some heavier IDEs. Multitasking isn't really a thing on this laptop, pick one thing to do and just kind of stick with it and you'll be fine. Battery life is excellent. With power saver mode on, airplane mode, and a dim screen in dark mode the estimated battery life in the toolbar was over 20 hours with just an IDE open for code editing. I think 13-18 hours is very realistic under light use. Serviceability is great especially for Lenovo who isn't usually the best in that department. I guess the educational market kind of demands that from them. You pop a few screws off of the bottom and unclip the large plastic panel off. The screws are held in place by the panel so you can't drop or lose them which is nice. Everything including the battery is right there behind the service panel in a clean accessible layout to be easily swapped out. No hoops to jump through. I upgraded the SSD in mine to get more local storage. RAM is soldered in but I believe 8gb is the max that this chipset supports anyway so who cares? I guess the only drawback is if the RAM somehow fails you can't swap it out but I really don't mind. Keyboard is pretty solid. I heard they kind of sucked on the older yoga 11e's but this one is fine. The BIOS also has a good amount of settings to mess with, like switching the ctrl and function keys. This thing also has Bluetooth which is pretty good. It worked fine with my headphones. This one came with Windows 10 despite the listing saying that it would have Windows 11, but that isn't really a big deal in my mind. Windows 10 uses a bit less RAM and you can just wait to opt for the upgrade to W11 when Microsoft cuts W10 support in 2025. One weird thing though, I pulled the OEM windows key out of the registry so that I could reinstall it onto a larger hard drive, but I'm assuming the Windows key is for some kind of an educational version because it said the key was valid but couldn't be used with either W10 home or professional. Debian also seems to run fine on this with no weird driver issues out of the box for all of you basement dwellers out there. Performance on a low spec machine like this is way better than Windows thanks to the lower overhead but you already knew that. You're almost certainly going to want a bigger hard drive if you're planning to dual boot though. All in all for the price I'm super happy with it. If you just need something cheap and durable to do some basic stuff or tinker around with a 6th gen Yoga 11e won't let your down. Plus the retro IBM color scheme on the thinkpad logo is pretty sick. ... show more

  • Gave me headaches, and unneeded stress. Horrible experience I rate this a Zero!
So the experience with this seller and products were so stressful and and draining was nothing but problems and stress I shouldn't have had to deal with! I was short in money so I bought this, it arrived not working! The seller sent me a new one and that one worked for a very short time just stopped charging. I purchased a new charger the same one that was needed specifically thinking that was the problem and it Didnt do anything. If I reached out to the seller and received no response. I'm a full time college student and really needed that laptop and was left beat until Amazon themselves stepped up and have me a refund! If we're nitnfor Amazon them self I would have been beat. If I were to be looking for a new laptop I would take A bus to a library every day before I bought this one! I recommend something a little more expensive. ... show more

  • A bit misleading but a good laptop
So here the deal these are refurbished and whoever is refurbishing them is sorta missing the point. The laptop was originally released in 2020 so why the laptop has windows 7 installed is beyond my comprehension. So the screen would flicker. In order to fix this bring resolution down and then proceed to update the computer software and drivers now that i installed the windows 11 and the proper drivers i put res back to high and the controller is working perfectly. Now for the price i am very happy but i wish i didn't have to fix it right out of the box! Also computer should have had a pen that comes with it in the side slot it doesn't and the they provided a dollar store stylus which is down right disappointing because the pen that comes with the computer should be with the computer period. So because i actually fix computers myself i know that i am not risking anything getting a refurbished computer however i should not have to fix a computer that has “already been fixed”. So for anyone out there i mentioned how i fixed the screen flashing on and off. ... show more

  • Obsolescence coming too soon
I like this machine very well and it met my needs for awhile. After using it for 6 months, the not upgradable 8g RAM became not enough to meet the latest Windows 11 constant upgrades. Once a fast machine, now...not anymore. . I love the design and it's functionality but becoming absolete quickly. Unfortunately, a new one is way too rich for my budget. ... show more

  • For $200-ish, WOW
Serious, I love this laptop. I typically have 3 laptops set up - two with bigger screens, and then an 11.6" for travel. My old ASUS 11.6" E200 had reached the end of its life (6+ years). I got this Lenovo. It looks new and works great for my needs. I love the keyboard. I don't generally use touchscreens, and this one is no different, but if you use touchscreens, this one is fine. ** I use CCleaner Pro (which I recommend) to keep the computer's software and drivers up to date, and to clear out "junk." I also set up my computers with local accounts, rather than a Microsoft account. ** Anyway, if this computer's has a price drop on Black Friday, I'm going to buy another one. :-) ... show more

  • A Computer 🖥
Good computer, works well for the price and for my personal use, mostly to draw and write. Setting it up took a while, as it didn't let me set up an email, which is weird since it works for everything else 👍

  • You get what you pay for
I bought this refurbished and tossed it out after about 6 months. My bad. It was cheap and I just wanted a retirement-laptop to answer emails and do online banking, etc. It completely crashed after a Windows update. I tried to contact the company who sold it (as directed on the info card provided in the packaging) and their phone number wasn't even in service any longer. You get what you pay for. It functions....sorta...for half a year. Don't expect more. ... show more
