Overall there not much i can say to the negative. 1 negative is the fingerprint reader; it doesn't work, would be nice to have but not necessary. I use it daily and can honestly say it's easily one of my best purchases from here. 0 complaints! Update. Headed into 2024 and still functioning as it did on day 1. Highly recommend. When working appropriately, the Lenovo Thinkpad P50 is a fantastic machine. I could have dozens of tabs open, and the speakers were loud and crisp. I appreciated the backlit keyboard that could be turned on and off that it had USB-C ports, an HDMI port, several USB ports, and an Ethernet port. The velvety feel of the laptop was my favorite characteristic. The computer is bulky but very sturdy. But that’s how I like mine so that my screen hinge isn’t going to snap from something as normal as me opening and closing the laptop cover daily. Unfortunately, despite all that I love about this laptop, I would not recommend purchasing this refurbished option. I purchased this in mid-April 2023, it’s now Sep 4th 2023, and already the laptop has become unusable. Issues I started having almost immediately AFTER the 90 day return window closed on July 11: Sometimes the laptop would not recognize my HDMI connected monitor. I had to go down the Google rabbit hole and reinstall this, update that, etc. to finagle it back to working. Randomly, in the middle of me working, the screen would turn blue and say the PC encountered a problem and just shut down. The last and final shot to the heart, is that even though I have the laptop’s AC adapter plugged in and the light is green, the laptop will not power on. I tried purchasing a brand new adapter, same issue. Tried disconnecting the adapter, removing the battery, and disconnecting the lithium ion button battery, same issue. I tried leaving it plugged up charging for hours, same issue. Tried running it only using the adapter and no batteries, same issue. Although I will attempt to reach out to Lenovo for support, from what I’ve gathered from folks with the same issue, this requires a motherboard replacement and with no warranty, it’s not even worth it. So essentially I just paid $115 a month to use this laptop for these 5 months. Save yourself the headache and invest in brand new or at least one still under warranty. Lesson learned. ... show more
