  • I was hesitant, but I'm glad I pulled the trigger ...
I'll try to keep this as brief as possible and informative - first, the reason I bought this system was my son (8 yr old) wants to be a "Youtuber" - the various laptops and CPUs I had in my house were pretty antiquated, so certainly they didn't have the ability to play more recent games, but also didn't have the ability to record while playing and then edit videos effectively. With that having been said, I didn't want to go out and spend over $1,000 dollars on a "Gaming system" just to have my son give up abruptly when he finds that he isn't just going to get 1 million subscribers because he posts one video - that it's actually going to take work - so I figured this system was like buying my son a used bike at a garage sale, and once he gets good on that, buying him a "new bike" ... if that makes sense. PROS: Obviously the price/value - I sort of actually enjoy shopping around online and finding the best value - after spending hours pricing out systems, looking for holiday deals, etc. - I kept coming back to this one - I was hesitant because it kind of feels like it had "mixed reviews" but at the end of the day, I had to take the chance, because to get about the same specs as this was at least double the price. Also a big pro that I like is when I've bought new systems in the past, they are preloaded with a ton of junk that you have to clear out of the startup (hp/dell all seem to have their programs they want to sell you or "help you" that just bog down the system) - this has none of that crap, you turn it on, it loads up, and boom, you're done. I loved it. CONS: This is essentially a "light gaming" system - if my son were into Call of Duty or Fortnite, this wouldn't get the job done - luckily he's into more indie games - with that having been said, I did have to upgrade the video card and keep in mind this is a slim line case, so you are limited a bit with what you can upgrade to - has to be a low profile video card. Honestly, that was the only con - here's what I bought with the system (because I like when other people put that in their reviews so I can cut down on my research time): Acer HA220Q bi 21.5" IPS Full HD Monitor Ultra-Thin Design (best value for an HD monitor I found) PNY NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 2GB DDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI Low Profile PCI-Express Video Card - this isn't going to be a 'hardcore' video card, but certainly an upgrade from integrated graphics, it'll allow us to play many more games and use better video/editing software. The install was easy, the system recognized it and deactivated the integrated card automatically and downloaded the recent drivers, so again, it was essentially plug-and-play. ***Update*** this Graphics card was ok, I ended up having to swap it out for a more powerful GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Ti OC Low Profile 4GB GDDR5 128 Bit PCI-E Graphic Card (GV-N105TOC-4GL) - works much better for playing games and recording at the same time, hardly any lag unless we are doing a hardcore battle simulator - much smoother video/audio recording. Just thought I would share. I'm glad I took the chance and saved myself about $300 dollars, I think my son is going to be super pumped on Christmas morning (plus I can start playing World of Warcraft again, my 10 year ago, nerdy self is excited, haha) ... show more

  • Excellent
Exactly as stated it runs perfectly. Except the previous time I purchased this item it included a Wi-Fi adapter. It’s fine though I just moved it from the office computer to this one as the other computer is approximately 6” from the router/modem and could connect via Ethernet cord as it’s so close. So happy to replace my ancient bedroom set up for something that doesn’t take 30 minutes to start up thanks back to wizarding in real time now. ... show more

  • Great Buy For The Money!
I didn't get snagged too bad on this buy. When you buy Refurbished (renewed) computers it's usually no more risky than buying a brand new PC. If you are one of the few who gets a bad one, ask for a replacement. 9 times out of 10, the replacement will satisfy you. In my instance, the only problem I had was the 3/4" speaker jack nor headphones worked. BUT at the price I paid for this refurb, it was an acceptable loss when I consider USB speakers worked fine, and that the system is a 4-Core 3.0Ghz CPU, with 8GBs ram - you won't find a new computer with those features for this affordable price! At this time its under $150 and its amazing. Dont expect it to look new - most likely it will have a few scratches or a scant few blemishes on the case. The INSIDE is what really matters. Its like Sleeper Hot Rods. They look like junk on the outside but run like a beast on the inside! Now thats kewl! That said, also keep in mind - if you are a hard core gamer, this wont work for you - not without beefing up the power supply and buying a quality graphics card and maxing out the Ram. Its great as is for average games and moderate software uses. I'd recomend buying this PC, just use common sense when using it and it will do you great. ... show more

  • Waste of money
I got this computer because I was looking for something on the cheaper side that would be good enough to use for regular task things. I went to set up the computer, & everything was working fine. Until I had to set up the wifi. First of all there’s this little adapter for the wifi, strange but makes sense if you don’t have Ethernet. I spent 4 hours trying to get this thing connected to wifi. It absolutely did not work. Everything I did. Look, I’m pretty internet savvy & have worked with different computers. I reset the adapter settings, I rebooted the wifi, i did absolutely everything & nothing worked. The only available wifi connections popping up were car WiFi’s & iPad Wi-Fi’s. So as I researched this runs on really low hrz of wifi. Meaning simple hotspots won’t even work on it. Don’t waste your money you’re better of grabbing something a little more pricey that is worth your while. Also, there was rust all over the back of the computer. I know it’s refurbished but “excellent condition” expectation was not met. ... show more
