  • Worth the cost

  • Great price
Had to replace the last refurb desktop I bought like 5 years ago - I needed something that would accept my old hard drive since everything is on it. Seems the only programs not functioning after the swap out is my HR block files which really sucks but at least the rest of my life works.

  • My experience is the machine is junk
It is not only slow, but to make it a usable machine will require a new and faster hard drive, some new and modern parts, like an HDMI plug that the process of refurbishing failed to locate or note. It may predate HDMI. I did not expect a "supercomputer" from a refurb site, but I did not expect that it would be so obtuse as to not be able to access any programs, like Facebook or X. This machine MIGHT be suitable for someone who has unending patience and deep pockets. I do not. This will be my first and last refurbished computer. One of my children is a computer technician, he warned me this machine was not a quality machine. I did not think it could be so bad I could not make use of it by any means. At least it is cheap enough I can sell it for a parts machine. To be quite honest, this is the first item over 10.00 i have bought from Amazon that was bad/defective/junk. I will still buy through you, but no more refurbs. ... show more

  • Fast, Versatile, Cheap
Out of the box, this product was easy to set up and to use. I am something of a luddite, preferring to use products that I am already familiar with - specifically WinXP - and I only purchased a computer with a Win10 OS because the world has moved on and I was no longer able to access many websites with WinXP. This computer fit the bill, first and foremost because it has 8 gigs of RAM. Do not make the same mistake I had made earlier of purchasing a computer with 4 gigs, which is capable of running Win10 but is inexorably slow. This desktop is lightning fast in comparison. I still haven't figured out all the kinks of Win10, and I lament that many of the nifty features and important programs I've enjoyed for years on WinXP are no longer available to me on the new computer, but that would be the fault of Microsoft - not the manufacturer or the reseller. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a small Wifi USB card/plug was included, which I was not expecting. It made setup and registration of the OS quite simple and seamless. This small form desktop doesn't have as many USB ports as I would have liked - two in the front and only four in the back. If you figure that two ports are needed for the keyboard and mouse and another one for the Wifi card, that doesn't leave a lot for scanners, printers, external hard drives, etc. It partly makes up for this shortcoming by having PS2 ports for a keyboard and mouse. I had to dig through my old computer supplies to find some vintage devices that fit the bill, but that allowed me to free up two USB ports. (The mouse and keyboard that are supplied with the computer are, naturally, USB devices). Overall I am very satisfied with this computer. It is fast, in excellent condition, well designed, and quite affordable. ... show more

  • Outdated device, but not bad for learning to mod a PC
So I purchased this desktop knowing that it was going to be a bit older and not the fastest device on the planet, but on paper it's specs are substantially higher than my laptop, which works well enough and doesn't typically crash, so I went for it. When I got it, the computer is seriously underpowered. It tends to crash and struggle when watching anything on youtube in 240p. In actual practice, this device tends to crash when trying to perform operations that my laptop with lower specs can do without difficulty. Part of the issue is that there are two very different devices being sold under this heading. One is the pc with the Intel i3 cpu and the other is the pc with the Intel i5 cpu. I purchased the one with the i3 cpu. As it currently is, the pc isn't strong enough for basic tasks. I've purchased an i5 cpu, a cheap graphics card, and 16 gb of ram to install. We'll see if those $100 worth of additional parts turn it into a decent machine, but don't expect this pc to be adequate out of the box, particularly the i3 version. Update: I've finished the modifications. I'm new at modifying pc's, so my upgrades were fairly simple, but they easily turned it into a functioning machine. The first upgrade that made a huge difference was the upgrade to an i5 CPU, which made a huge difference in speed and capability. The second modification was the addition of a $50, 2 GB GPU. This modification was fairly tricky for me since I couldn't get the screen to turn on once I'd plugged in the GPU. All the solutions I found online focused on modifying the settings once the screen was turned on. I wound up removing the GPU, removing the CMOS battery to force a reset which made the screen work again, booting the pc into safe mode and removing the default Intel graphics driver and installing the new driver, then installing the GPU, which now functions well. Lastly, I replaced the two sticks of 4 GB RAM with two sticks of 8 GB RAM. This was a good thing because the PC frequently pulls over 50% of new RAM capacity, which is more than it came installed with. All that being said, I run some moderately graphics-intensive processes, though not a intense a gaming, and my current GPU struggles to keep up. The GPU is now my new bottleneck and I'm looking to upgrade that again. Either way though, any GPU you add will probably speed this machine up, and since lower-end low-profile graphics cards aren't too expensive I would recommend adding one. The Bottom line: get one with an i5, not the i3. The i3 CPU is so weak as to be effectively obsolete. I would recommend also getting a GPU and a upgrading the RAM to 16 GB as the i5 needs more room than the 8 GB that comes installed can give it. ... show more

  • Really good so far!
I bought this renewed pc to replace my 89-year-old mother's old pc. She's very smart and independent, even at her age. She loves her electronics and does well with them! She does not require a super-fast pc, but this is actually a great configuration for the money! It's way faster than her other pc. So far, she's really enjoying it. I believe it was around 75? Can't beat that! ... show more
