    • Shameful Warranty
Where to start. That's easy, don't ever buy a Lenovo laptop. I purchased mine in March of 2024 and the screen stopped working within 6-weeks of the first use. I then contacted Lenovo as it was obviously still under warranty and was instructed to ship to their service center for repair. Once it arrived at Lenovo and was diagnosed, I then received an email back with a quote of $164.68 to have it repaired. The symptom they gave was as follows: CID - 3rd Party SSD. When I emailed back asking for clarification on "3rd Party SSD and why that wasn't covered, was then told that the Lenovo warranty doesn’t cover 3rd party parts. Keep in mind that this was a laptop purchased through Amazon new and arrived in original Lenovo packaging. They basically passed the buck on the repair and wouldn't agree to honor the warranty. There's no way that this machine had any part other than the originals as manufactured by Lenovo. Once explaining the situation to Amazon, they were quick to give me a full refund once the original unit was returned. Sadly I've been without a laptop for over a month now, and all of this has been a huge headache. The laptop was hardly used and never left my office desk. This is nothing more than a cop out by Lenovo to honor its warranty and would not recommend that anyone buy this laptop or any other from Lenovo. They obviously don't mind selling their products through 3rd party vendors (yes Amazon), but will not honor the warranty. I would love to share my email exchange with you all, but there is a disclaimer that basically says that the information in the email is confidential and that any copying or distribution of its contents is unlawful. I am typing on this computer now after owning for a year. We are very happy with it - works perfectly. The only complaint (and it's my fault for not purchasing one) is that I wish I had a backlit keyboard. We just use for general internet surfing, teaching, church stuff, our home base for all things digital I guess. We do not game or watch videos on it or anything like that. ... show more

    • Should not be this slow, given the specs
I'm not totally convinced I received a computer with the specs outlined in the description. I kinda think they swapped some parts on this computer, because there is not reason for a computer with these specs to perform this terribly right out of the box. Also, Windows 11 is terrible. A few issues I’m having: -The computer keeps shutting down instead of going to sleep. When I step away for lunch, I come back and the computer won’t wake up. I click, press buttons on the keyboard, and even press the power button, but nothing happens. I have to hold down the power button and the computer reboots. This causes me to lose everything I’m working on and I need to reopen everything. -The USB-C jack does not work with the HDMI. I have an adapter to connect the keyboard, mouse, and monitor via the USB-C. This worked on my old Lenovo computer, but does not work on this one. I would prefer to unplug one thing instead of 4 different things if I want to move around with my laptop. -The USB-C jack is emitting power, even when shut down. This leads to batter drain. This never happened with my old computer. -The headphone jack does not work. -The computer is very slow and laggy. If I try to browse the internet during a zoom meeting the meeting gets very laggy. This was not an issue with my old Lenovo and should not be an issue with a computer of these specs. ... show more
