  • A bit pricey, but great for gaming
Capacity: 32GB RAM | 1TB SSD Style: Intel Core i9
I needed something for on-the-go, normally only built desktops, and wanted it to game very easily. I could have gone for RTX 4080 but I felt the price did not justify the performance "increase". This plays every game--well, almost every game--at the highest settings @ 1440p. The only game I've tested so far that does not work well at all is Ark Ascended, though I'm 99.9% certain that Ark is just optimized like a garbage bucket full of liquid garbage, so...take that as you will. The color quality is incredible on the screen, too. When I first loaded up Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West, I was stunned. It's a massive upgrade over the monitor I had before, just not in "size". The only thing I have a complaint about is the serious lack of USB ports. It's kind of really annoying for the price that 4 is all I got total, but you win some, you lose some I guess. If you got the money and don't need a laptop, build your own desktop for way less and have it be better in every way. If you need a laptop for school/work AND you also want to game, this laptop or something similiar is a good option. NOTE: you may experience sound not working on speakers after updates. No matter what you do unless you reinstall Windows. Thank you Lenovo for thinking that's okay to ship. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware: Modified Lenovo Laptop
Capacity: 32GB RAM | 2TB SSD Style: Intel Core i9
When I originally bought this laptop back in October 2024, I was very impressed with the system. It ran fine up until issues started in November with the laptop freezing during gaming. No matter how many cooling pads/fans, lowering graphics, limiting programs, the system would continuously freeze. The issues conveniently started AFTER the 30 day return period. Thankfully, I still had the Lenovo warranty, right? The issues still persisted and I learned now in April that this is not in fact a new computer. The model I bought was bought by this vendor from Lenovo in June 2024 and then modded with additional features that differ from the Lenovo based model. Modifications to the original build of materials of the unit are not covered by unauthorized 3rd party modifications or any damage caused by said modifications. Meanings - if any issues stem from the mods (which how would you, the average laptop buyer know this?) then the Lenovo manufacturer warranty will not cover it. When I reported the issue to Amazon in February (as at that point I had already sent the laptop back to Lenovo twice and the issues still persisted) Amazon said that it was past the return period and they would not refund. They instead directed me back to handling issues via the manufacturer's warranty. But here's the problem: If the issues are caused by the mods and that isn't covered by Lenovo, you're stuck with a lemon of a laptop after spending so much on it. This is frustrating because the listing of this computer on Amazon doesn't mention it being modded, implies that it's new, and even makes you think you're buying from Lenovo directly via Amazon given that the link to the Lenovo brand site is at the top under the title of the listing, while the shop name seller is smaller and hidden on the far right of the screen where the "Buy Now" is smaller. There is no mention in the listing of this being an explicitly modded 3rd party laptop or even "refurbished". Nor is there any mention of this going against the Lenovo Warranty that Amazon wants to point you towards. It has been a frustrating time dealing with unhelpful Amazon reps and a back and forth of Lenovo, who has been gracious enough to try and solve the issues despite this. If you're looking for laptops on Amazon, be safe and buy from the manufacturer directly lest you be stuck in a similar cycle. ... show more

  • Excellent laptop
Capacity: 64GB RAM | 2TB SSD Style: Intel Core i9
The 13900HX is a very powerful mobile processor. Coupled with 64GB RAM, 2GB SSD and an nVidia 4070 GPU this makes for a capable and versatile machine. It's not particularly small or light but I wouldn't expect that with these features. I use a laptop for music production, video editing and 3D CAD and for those purposes it excels. I'm not a gamer but for around $2k this represents very good value for money. I'm happy with my purchase. I was even happier after I figured out how to disable to flashing multicolor lights under the keyboard 😂 ... show more

  • Only place with these specs
Capacity: 64GB RAM | 2TB SSD + 2TB SSD Style: Intel Core i9
As a game developer I put a high priority on things like RAM, CPU, and storage space. Moreso than a gamer or the typical laptop user. This was the only place I could find a laptop with a decent graphics card that had a great CPU, 64GB RAM and 4TB storage. I've been using the laptop for a few months now and I'm pleased with it. The keyboard is decent and all of the third party RAM/SSD upgrades are legit from what I can tell. I opted for the 5i over the 7 because honestly the only difference was the metal face plate from what I could tell and that wasn't worth the extra few hundred bucks. ... show more

  • A great laptop for AI experimenting and general Linux use.
Capacity: 64GB RAM | 2TB SSD + 2TB SSD Style: Intel Core i9
I bought this laptop and loaded Linux Mint on it to experiment with local LLMs. It's quite good for that. The screen has such high definition that I have to zoom in on docs sometimes just to be able to read it. It has some flashy stuff that I don't care for, such as lights under the keyboard. There's even lights in the fans, which can't even be seen! Overall a typically good Lenovo though. Warranty is kind of short for an expensive laptop. Minus one star because one of the three USB-A ports does not work much of the time. The port loses power occasionally, but if I reboot the laptop it will come back, only to disappear sometime later. There was an unrelated problem with one of the other USB ports; I accidentally plugged in a device for a moment that needed more current that the port could supply, and the laptop immediately shut off and wouldn't come back on. I had to disassemble the laptop and disconnect the battery to get it to reset and come back. That's pretty scary on a $1200 laptop! I still don't know if that port is damaged or not but I avoid using it now. ... show more
