  • User friendly
Bought for Christmas present for a teenager who absolutely loves it . Nice size screen , touch pad and keys make it easier for them . Loaded his games and watches videos on it , loads faster than his Xbox does . I was impressed and it made the 14 year olds Christmas best ever (his words )

  • The charging
The only dislike I like about this computer is the fact that it doesn’t go past 75% of being charged even the fact that it’s been on the charger for 4 to 5+ hours

  • Much Better Than Your Standard Chromebook
I got this Chromebook for 3 reasons. First, my old Dell was getting long in the tooth and cantankerous, much like its owner. Second, due to its inclusion of an Intel processor and 8GB RAM, this unit was eligible for upgrade to Plus status. Third, I got it for $173 with discounts and a no-tax on computers holiday in my state. Now that I’m retired, that makes financial sense. However, I didn’t have high expectations. After all, I was going from 32GB RAM and an i7 processor down to 8GB RAM mated to an i3 processor. But, I’m not a gamer and use my computers for document processing, web surfing, online shopping and occasional video watching. And since my eyes are getting old, I needed something better than my old 14 inch Dell screen. So, imagine my surprise when I receive this refurbished unit without any visible signs of usage. In fact, my only indication that this was ever used happened to be a notification from Google when I attempted to activate the free Gemini AI Advanced trial offer (they sent me an immediate reply stating that offer had expired on my particular model - bummer). But I’d have to wait about 15 to 20 minutes before I could do anything - there was a huge update waiting in the wings for me. Turns out Google was changing this unit from a standard Chromebook to the updated Plus series (which is now evident by the new splash page at boot that states “Chromebook Plus”). After that, it was the usual signing in with my established Google account and off to the races I went. And that’s when I discovered things have definitely changed from when I tried Chromebooks over a decade ago. Gone are the fuzzy, barely bright screens and almost non-existent, Celeron based processing power. Now I can have multiple tabs open and my internet radio playing in the background without having to worry about the processor dropping dead. Not only that, even the old Google Docs office suite has been upgraded to be less cumbersome. And, in case you didn’t notice, you can now load and use Linux apps on new or newer Chromebooks. Big plus for those of us who use those apps. Of course, you can use Android apps, too. All this for under $200 is a deal and it has updates guaranteed for the next few years. In my case, until June, 2032 by which time I’ll be dead or too old to care. Of course, nothing is perfect and this unit has one glaring deficiency - power consumption. Mix the i3 processor, a brighter than normal screen, and a backlit keyboard and you’re lucky to get 5 hours before running to an outlet. However, that is the price you have to pay for upgrades and I’m willing to accept that. ... show more
