  • Quality for the price
Use: I use this as something to take notes on for meetings in the office and traveling around doing client meetings where I only really use the online PowerPoint feature and google keep for notes. (Not great for an all in one of you use resource intensive programs like excel) Cons: Speakers aren’t great. Front facing camera is does the job but leaves some to be desired. Pros: 8gb of ram is really all you need. I can take notes and be on a teams meeting with no issues.(I returned the 4gb one to get this) Stunning screen Cheap compared to peers with similar hardware Chrome OS makes a lot of sense on these tablet combos ... show more

  • Too heavy for a tablet, not a real laptop
The processor seems to be able to do everything I expect it to do without draining the battery but it is occasionally very slow for no apparent reason. The device is a good size, it fits in my backpack and I don't feel like it needs a case. The kickstand and keyboard should protect the device from damage. The screen is nice especially for use as a laptop. The OLED screen looks good. Videos have good color and contrast with deep blacks and a bright screen, but a Netflix movie looked a washed out when compared to the same video on my iPad mini. That may be due to the Netflix app. When holding the device like a tablet in portrait mode the limitations of the Full HD panel are obvious. I can definitely see individual pixels but a higher resolution screen would probably mean a shorter battery life. The device is meant to be used as a laptop so I don't understand why Lenovo doesn't make a real laptop just like this tablet. The keyboard has fallen off more than once and I'm not sure how much I trust the kickstand to hold the tablet up and protect the screen from breaking. It's too big and heavy to use as a tablet and the screen is not sharp enough to hold up close in portrait mode. Battery life appears to be very good, probably around fifteen hours or more. The speakers are not very good. They do not compare favorably with the speakers on my iPad mini. Video sound syncs well with my Pixel Buds. There is occasional Bluetooth lag between the audio and video. The Chromebook Duet pairs very well with my Pixel phone. It should be able to share cellular data with an Android phone but that feature is disabled by my phone plan. Microsoft has disabled all the Office apps on ChromeOS. I can edit Word documents in the browser only when online or use Google Docs. There may be other workarounds. This is a hassle for me. A headphone jack and microSD slot would be welcome on a device this size but neither is present. I have a USB C headphone jack adapter but 128gb is not enough storage and any external storage besides a microSD card is going to be awkward. I would rather have a conventional laptop with the same screen and processor as this tablet, with the electronics below the keyboard and a thin screen. Lenovo could sell a lot of Chromebooks with specs like this tablet, expandable storage and a headphone jack. I just sent back a Lenovo Chromebook laptop this size with a bad screen and poor battery life. I don't care for the fabric covering the kickstand and keyboard. It's reminiscent of the sweatpants covering that Google abandoned years ago. The device itself looks very nice without these accessories. ... show more

  • Tablet would not power up
Surprised I didn’t see this in q&a. These tablets have a rep for difficulties in turning on. My new unboxed item powered up as soon as I plugged in the power cord, but after I unplugged to change locations it shut down never to start up again. Even after a full nights charge, the power button gets no reaction. There are many postings online by people having a similar problem. Even Lenovo support couldn’t solve it. ... show more

  • Terrific display, great video streaming and internet browsing, Apps are buggy.
Extremely versatile, with removable keyboard, which works very well. Video streaming apps like Amazon Video, Apple TV, etc work great with a terrific display screen, excellent speakers and bluetooth for headsets. Internet works great. I find though that the use of Apps, like X, Amazon Prime Shopping, Facebook, etc work much better if you use the browser to access them. Using them as Apps, like you would use on your phone, does not work very well as these Apps are very buggy on this device and clearly not designed with this type of usage model in mind. Again, they do work well within the context of the Google browser. Generally speaking, I find that turning the tablet vertical to use like a phone is clunky and weird in just about any use case, it is just too big of a device for this to feel natural. Using horizontally, with or without keyboard, is much more natural feeling and comfortable. ... show more

  • THIS CHROMEBOOK IS A WINNER!!!
Awsome Chromebook! I've been using this product since Christmas of 2021 and I must say that it is very impressive! You definately get a bang for your buck with this one. It comes as a major upgrade to the first chrome book of its kind. Very fast processor, OLED touch screen, very long battery life! great features to multitask with and very useful apps with Google apps. The front and rear cameras are not the greatest but they take pictures that are acceptable and look fairly good. The keyboard attachment is a really good addition and is very easy to use. Not too heavy and prtable, The Lenovo Chromebook duet 5 is a slamdunk for me! I am completely convinced from my experrience with it. I almost went with the newest Samsung galaxy tab - which is an amazing tablet - but was also very expensive and does not come with a keybaord (sold seperately and also expensive). The chip-set placed in this tab is up to date with the latest technologies. You cant ask for more at this pricepoint, especially considering that it's packed with av 125gb Solid State flash drive. You will find that your purchase was well worth it. Cheers! ... show more

  • Great device and excellent value. Screen and touchpad leave a little to be desired
Overall a great product and huge upgrade from the original 10.1" Ideapad Duet (4GB Mediatek). Pros: - Excellent build quality - Near full-sized keyboard makes typing easy - Decent speakers and mic for video conferencing - Snappy response even on heavy webapps like Gmail and Drive Cons: - The right side of the touchpad clicks more deeply than the left side and produces an unusually loud click. I believe this may be a minor assembly issue. - The screen pixels are a little large and results in visible grain if viewed from less than 2ft away - Quite heavy for a tablet but lighter than laptops of the same size ... show more
