  • A Great Student/Business Webcam
This webcam is definitely a step up from the 720p webcams built into most laptops but as the description says it’s only 1080p not 4K so I wouldn’t recommend this for someone who wants to do any professional streaming. That being said, it is sufficient for Zoom/Microsoft teams meetings and it does work with windows hello at least with my Lenovo laptop when plugged into an external monitor. There is no microphone with this webcam but most webcam mics aren’t very good anyway and it’s better to use a separate microphone. The only other webcam I’ve come across that has windows hello, usb-c, and a privacy shutter has been the Logitech brio (4K) but that’s >3x the price. With the money I saved going with Lenovo I also picked up a quality desktop mic and still saved money. ... show more

  • Great for face recognition
I plugged this into my PC running Windows 10 (build19043) and the drivers installed automatically. I was able to set up Windows Hello face recognition easily enough, and I can now sign in hands-free in less than a second. The device looks surprisingly nice on top of my small bezel (<1/8") display and doesn't obscure the screen. The face recognition works great, but it only technically takes pictures. If you're looking for a webcam with face recognition, this isn't the product for you; you probably need to be shopping around the $100 price mark (or just get this with another dedicated webcam). It connects with USB 2.0, so the picture quality is pretty limited. It doesn't have a microphone (I consider this a privacy feature), and I'd be perfectly happy buying this product for a few dollars less without the RGB camera. The one caveat with this device (other than the webcam quality) is that the IR LED visibly flashes a dark red when it's trying to sign you in. This might count on a feature if you want to know when it's operating, but it's not invisible. It's also not flashing while you're signed in, so this isn't distracting. ... show more

  • Low Quality Image; Windows Hello Works
Lenovo 500; returned. Image Quality: My 1080p webcam from a decade ago produces a better image. Not worth the tradeoff for Windows Hello. Windows Hello: Windows Hello setup was super easy, and it did work quickly when my face registered. My only gripe here is that my face needed to be closer than usual to the monitor (camera mounted to top) for the camera to register my face. Build Quality: The camera seems to have been built well. It's sturdy and the mounting mechanism is solid for my application. They even provide an HDMI cable that seems quite durable. ... show more

  • It works
I remember seeing a lot of reviews saying this thing didn’t work for a lot of people but I figured I’d take the chance since it was only $35 and it was a Lenovo. It works for me and unlocks my PC, the camera quality is kind of garbage but that’s not what I need it for. All I wanted was Windows Hello face recognition and it does just that ... show more

  • Works occasionally with Windows hello
It could just be my setup but my laptops webcam doesn't support windows hello natively so I bought this cam as it does - and sometimes it works great but sometimes it doesn't and when it doesn't I've got to type in my password (first world problems I know) but if your goal is to never type in a password on your win 10 pc this may not be the best choice, YMMV and it seems to be on boot up its hit or miss and sometimes when laptop wakes up from sleep mode. (there may be a solution for this online but I've not figured it out) As a regular webcam it's good but not as good as my Logitech C620 which it replaced (which itself was an upgrade from the poor webcam in my laptop) ... show more

  • works ok
problem with Windows Hello, not the Camera. Did not setup easily had to use a known fix to get windows to recognize it.

  • Works great for Windows Hello
Got this to use Windows Hello sign on and it works great for that. Has privacy shutter. Does not have a microphone so would not be my first choice for web conferencing since I don’t have a separate mic. Good value and the Windows Hello operation seems really good including in dim light.

  • Works fine with Windows Hello
Image quality is fine but not much impressive. Seems no microphone inside. Works fine with Windows Hello after installing a driver from the Lenovo website. Recognizes my face in a second and unlock.
