Took a little more time to assemble as the holes werent aligned on last few steps so slight bubble on roof and base. frustrated had to predrill holes.(1/16" off) but other than that for the price not bad. Fits my pup comfortable and with stood 1ft of snow like a champ. So definatley is sturdy and waterproof. Pup is medium size husky and she has a lot of room. Cons is there isnt much insulation which would be added bonus so will custom cut that and no where to mount a fan per say for summer but for a base product its nice. ... show more

The dog house is flimsy until all put together. Once together it is adequate. Good for the cost. The 42 inch size is a bit snug for a 100 lb dog, but ours uses it. The door requires at least a 25 " flap if one is desired. The Trixie one has to be slightly modified to attach.

The panels may seem flimsy because these are lightweight, but the house itself seems durable. The base seems especially sturdy. The one advantage is that I can move it around my backyard pretty easily, which I now do based on the position of the sun. One thing, I'd pay +$10 to have some kind of hinged roof that gives access from above. (Note: I originally had a problem with the roof panels. Apparently I was given the wrong type. The company sent me a replacement set (two, in fact!), so I'd say customer service is pretty responsive. ... show more

The size I selected was perfect for my dog. It is better to have two people for the assembly, but I did do it by myself. I like that it is elevated off the ground. I had to put it on a concrete surface so couldn’t use the side spikes. So far it has not moved even on windy days.

I was kind of hesitant at first because the plastic seems flimsy but once you get it all together it is actually quite sturdy. I like the fact it is elevated as well. This might be something small to some people but they actually sent you the screw driver and gloves to assemble the product. That's customer service in a box baby. This dog house consists of 7 pieces of plastic held together by fewer than 24 screws of two different sizes. And,oh, there are stakes to help hold it to the ground. Given that it’s all plastic, how will it hold up to winter weather? Will it turn brittle and break at the connection points? Time will tell. It’s got a 3-star look, for now. If you have quite a good bit of experience assembling things, you will be fine. It comes with a screwdriver, but you might find a ratcheting screwdriver most helpful. The directions are in pictures only. One image pictures more screws than the heading says. You will need to be a very mechanical type of person to succeed in getting it all to go together. It is a good size without taking up too much room in my dog’s 10x10 kennel. And the kennel is covered, so I’m not worried about the house leaking. Otherwise I would caulk the 2 seams on the “ridge.” I liked the price, and if it lasts through the winter, I’ll like it even more! ... show more

We got these for our ducks, and they work well for that purpose. They were a bit hard to assemble; two people were necessary. The plastic is quite thin and flimsy, and the product is very light.
