  • Exceptionally fine media
I work on a lot of cars, trucks doing restorations and building or servicing street-rods in my shop. I was recently given the opportunity to review this product. First off - this media is best used in a cabinet blaster or handheld blaster. It absolutely must be kept dry at all times. If you don’t have a good water-trap system on your compressor, you likely will need one. You can sift and reuse this soda media, but you’ll need a superfine screen. This media is perfect for those fine parts where protection of the part’s base finish is important. Use only enough air pressure to get the job done as it is still an abrasive and will degrade the item being blasted if held in one spot too long. I keep up with my reviews and will revisit this one should the need arise. I give this soda media my Big-Foot “Stomp” of approval and 5 stars! ... show more

  • It's baking soda
This is just a large amount of baking soda. I used it for polishing rocks, and it did a decent job. I don't think it'll replace my usual borax routine, but it was a nice amount for the price.

  • Worked nicely.

  • Not worth it
This sodium bicarbonate comes in a ziplock bag with a sticker printed on a consumer label printer. The label does not specify grain size. At $15 for 2 lbs, this product is outrageously expensive. A 12 lbs bulk package at a membership warehouse store costs about $9. Crystals, under magnification, seem to be identical to generic sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). ... show more

  • Bag of good industrial quality blasting soda
This is exactly as I expected it to be. The bag is just a simple zipper lock style. Marked Made in Taiwan. Good consistency and works exactly as it should.

  • Well, it works but...
It's baking soda in a zip lock bag. Maybe it's a little bit coarser than what you would get in a box of Arm & hammer, I don't know since there is no indication of the size on the label. I used it to clean up some slightly rusty tools as well as some dirty and slightly corroded engine parts on a dirt bike. It worked just fine and did the job it was intended for but it's really pricey for what it is. I'm sure I can get the same quality but much more quantity at my local home improvement store for a lot less of a cost. ... show more

  • It's basically just bougie Arm and Hammer.
Bought this for my new sandblaster as I heard it was the best media to use on wood furniture. In fairness, I'm not sure if I was just disappointed in general at the effectiveness of the sandblaster paired with this, or what. All I can tell you is that this bag didn't even make dent in the progress of an average size console table. I got maybe 5-10% of the way on sanding, if that and I was only trying to remove one coat of varnish that had already been cleaned/prepped for sanding. Desperate to move on with the project but not wanting to spend the anticipated $200+ it would take of this product to do the job, nor wait for another Amazon delivery, my husband pulled out our giant Costco bag of Baking Soda. While it does feel different than this (slightly softer/less gritty), it performed EXACTLY the same as this. Just save yourself a ton of money and buy regular Arm and Hammer at Costco. ;) ... show more

  • Effective and safe abrasive material
I recently used the Le Lematec soda blasting media on helping me remove some rust stains around my bathroom faucet and it worked well. This sodium bicarbonate abrasive is claimed to effectively remove rust, dirt, carbon, and grease from various surfaces, including metal, wood, and glass, without causing damage. The 2.2lbs starter bag was a good size for my initial needs. The grains look larger than cooking baking soda. I was particularly impressed with how easily it cleans delicate surfaces, like counter tops, without scratching them. It also seems like it will be a great option for my rock tumbler polishing. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the performance and versatility of this soda media. ... show more
