  • No better fun for kids than Lego/Technic! My 8 year old grandson is loving this!
My now 8 year old grandson has been doing Lego Technics since he was 5 years old. Though we're still a day away from completing the build (total time in so far is about 8 hours over three days), this Technic has been a ton of fun for him. I love that this remote controlled rally car has nearly 1,000 pieces. While my grandson also loves some of the smaller regular and Technic lego sets, I find that there just isn't as much bang for your buck for anything less than about 1,000 pieces. And anything less than 500 pieces ends up being maybe a couple hours at most of fun. And regarding the 10+ year old age recommendation, as I mentioned my grandson has been doing Technics since he was five, so he's ahead of the game. But to be honest, especially with adult supervision I think the age recommendations on many of the Lego sets are on the high side by at least a year if not two years. The manuals are exceptional and if you use the Lego app on your phone, each step can be viewed in 3-D and rotated 360 degrees, so even some of the tougher steps can be worked through. ... show more

  • A gift for my teenager
I bought this as a gift for my teenage son and he has had so much fun with it! It was perfect for his skill level, not to easy, but not too hard to build. All the pieces were there and it has stood up to some rough okay from he and his brother. All in all I would say it was definitely worth the money and I will be buying more similar products in the future. ... show more

  • Fun build, disappointing drive
Cool project. Slower than I thought it'd be and app controls are a little wonky. It's fun to put together and seeing the mechanical parts come together is cool. Also note it requires 6AA batteries
