  • Darth Maul is amazing
If you're a Star Wars fan, then you have to have this LEGO set. This is perhaps one of the most memorable and iconic scenes of the entire Star Wars saga. Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Qui-Gon Jinn, help round out this set with some amazing LEGO minifigures. The build itself is fairly straight-forward and there is only one sticker (love that). Additionally, there's quite a lot of playability with the moving pieces in this set, so you'll most likely hear lightsabers and fighting in the background from whomever is playing with this LEGO set. Overall, there's decent value with this set when considering the three well-known and fairly famous minifigs that come with this set. To be honest, the main reason I purchased this set was so that I could get the Darth Maul LEGO minifig to go with my Darth Maul bust. The bust is from LEGO set 10018, and it's amazing. Now I can have an actual Darth Maul LEGO minifig to go with it. :) ... LEGO Star Wars Episode 1: Darth Maul Sculpture Overall, I like this set and think you'll be pleased with your purchase. Keep your eyes open for a sale price because if you're patient, it will happen. I give this set two thumbs up. Lastly... something I'd like to share that most Amazon customers don't know about. If you're looking for LEGO and you're not overly interested in the condition or quality of the box, I would recommend that you check out Amazon Warehouse Deals. In the Amazon search bar, simply type in 'warehouse deals' and then type in LEGO. This will then populate your screen with items that AWD is selling for a reduced price. AWD is a great alternative if you're wanting to score new LEGO for a cheaper price. How it works: A LEGO box gets damaged during delivery or while in transport in the warehouse, Amazon then ensures the contents are undamaged and still in perfect condition. Then Amazon sells that item for a reduced price due the damaged packaging. In other words, if you don't care about the LEGO box, then this is a great way to get brand new LEGO for a reduced price due damaged packing. And, because LEGO are basically indestructible, this doesn't impact the ability to enjoy the new LEGO set. Hopefully this review was helpful to you. If so, please let me know below. • The prequels were awful but this set is quite nice for the price.
I was on the fence about buying this set. I have no love whatsoever for the prequels and have never bought a prequel related Lego set before. I thought for the price, play features, and included minifigures I went ahead and picked this set up. The set was $19.99 when I bought it. The set has only one sticker and I have it displayed next to my Carbonite Chamber set. The minifigures are all really good here with Darth Maul of course being the highlight. The laser door opening mechanism is clever and works well. The leaping play function lacks and try though you might there is little chance of getting Obi Wan to leap out in the direction of Darth Maul. Qui Gon and Obi Wan both have two facial expressions. The little build is solid and comes in 3 numbered bags. This set is good for kids and adult collectors alike. I'm a 36 year old collector and love adding niche sets like this to my collection of Star Wars sets. ... show more

  • and I think I may very well buy a second so I can make a larger "more whole" one to recreate the scene a little better.
Not going to lie, I got this just for the minifigures. They're high detail, and the last Qui-Gon Jinn figure I got was the one they made back before licensed sets had flesh-tone minis. But while building the set, I do have to applaud the mechanism that closes both halves of the ray shield. While most engineers have to machine a special piece to get the same result, LEGO used a small combination of parts they've been using for over 20 years. The rest of the play features aren't really much to write home about. There's a little "glass" dome under the ray shields that I think is supposed to be turning them off, and there is the mini catapult that's supposed to fling Obi-Wan out of the pit. But I can't seem to get it to fling him right. Overall, it's a decent set piece, and I think I may very well buy a second so I can make a larger "more whole" one to recreate the scene a little better. ... show more

  • I love this duel scene from the Phantom Menace, Star Wars episode I prequel.
This set allows you to re-enact the duel between padawan Obi-wan Kenobi, jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul. In the movie Darth Maul gets cut in 2 and falls down the hole/pit to his death (assumed) but the Star Wars Clone Wars show on Cartoon Network later revealed that he survived! So this moment in this Lego set is very important and a great part of the Star Wars storyline. I'd highly recommend it and hope you found my review helpful! Check out my photo for more details of this set. :) ... show more

I like how the price is still affordable thought it was going to be around $200. I’m happy that I could be able to buy it. Trying to get every Star Wars sets ever made. Love this so much.

  • nice Lego set
This is a nice Lego set. It has a lot of pieces that can work in other projects once this one is built. I'd say the age range is spot on, my older elementary age kids were able to assemble it by themselves.
