    • A brilliant build with an amazing light feature!
I purchased this LEGO Ideas Motorized Lighthouse as a gift for my partner, and it turned out to be an absolute hit! The star of the show is definitely the working lighthouse feature - seeing the light actually rotate brings a magical touch to the finished display. It's these kinds of thoughtful details that remind us why LEGO continues to impress. The build process was enjoyable and surprisingly manageable. While there are quite a few pieces (2,065 to be exact), the instructions were clear and the building time felt just right - challenging enough to be engaging without becoming frustrating. The design actually makes sense as you build it, with each section coming together beautifully. What makes this set special is how it combines different elements - you're not just getting a lighthouse, but also a charming cottage and an intriguing cave section. The whole scene tells a story, which is something LEGO does so well. The scale is perfect for display, making it a real conversation piece without taking up too much space. The motorized light mechanism is brilliantly engineered and adds a whole new dimension to the model, especially when displayed in a dimly lit room. It's these kinds of interactive features that make LEGO sets worth the investment. For LEGO enthusiasts or lighthouse collectors, this set is a must-have. It strikes that perfect balance between being a fun build experience and a beautiful display piece. While the price point might seem high to some, the quality, detail, and working features make it worth every penny. The only minor nitpick would be that changing the batteries might be a bit fiddly, but that's hardly a dealbreaker given how impressive the overall product is. This set is another reminder of why LEGO maintains such a devoted following among adult builders. Pros: Working motorized light feature Excellent build quality and instructions Beautiful details in the cottage and cave Perfect display size Great addition to any LEGO collection ... show more

    • 10/10 build and decor piece
I’ve built a lot of LEGO sets, and this one stands out for its design more than its difficulty. The build is smooth and well structured, with a few smart techniques throughout. It’s not especially challenging, but it’s satisfying and never feels repetitive. The finished model looks fantastic on display. It has a clean, classic look and feels solid once complete. It’s the kind of set that draws attention without being over the top. Overall, I’m glad to have in the collection. ... show more

    • Very cool and unique Lighthouse from Lego
Review Image by Mic
This Lighthouse ranks right up there with the big models that Lego has put out. Like the Lego Shuttle Discovery and the SST Concorde and the Saturn V Rocket. It is well made and sturdy and everything works like it should. The cables for the working Lighthouse are all concealed in the Lighthouse tower and the battery compartment is easy to get to to change out the batteries when needed. The light in the Lighthouse cabin is also a nice addition to this build. There are a few stickers which is nice and the rock face where the Lighthouse cabin sits is extremely easy to assemble. This was a fun and easy build and I'd definitely add it to your collection. It is a little pricey. ... show more

    • This kit was a lot of fun to build and looks gorgeous.
This build was a lot of fun. The cliff the lighthouse sits on was a little monotonous, and the curves on the lighthouse wall could be challenging in spots, but the lighthouse mechanism, including the fresnel lens, was a blast to put together. My only complaint was the dark blue for the base isn’t really accurate- shorelines tend to be shallower water, so a bright blue is more accurate. I built this one and then lifted it off the dark blue base to transplant it on a bright blue base. It was challenging and more than a little nerve-wracking at times, but she is fully functional, which definitely speaks to the quality of the kit. ... show more

    • Nice addition to my Lego collection
Very happy with this. Made a nice addition to my Lego collection. The lighthouse lighting up was the selling point for me as this added to the display value and authenticity of the set. I even bought a case to display this in to keep the dust off of it. I modified the case panel on one side so the on off lever could be accessed without removing the case. ... show more

Loved the build and looks great. Rebuilt the motor/driveshaft several times. Makes alot of noise and doesn't always turn the lens.. disappointing because the shafts and gears Lego has available could have made the drive portion of the lighthouse work perfect and run quietly. I have built the G500 Mercedes set and the McLaren P1.. both have intense transmissions and drivetrains.. this set could have used a few different parts and actually worked!! Have to take bottom of tower off and hold a small screwdriver against the driveshaft to turn the light.. can't just sit back and enjoy it. Nice set overall, looks great on shelf, just disappointed the lens doesn't turn well given the price of the set. ... show more
