Those poor minifigures had no chance! My son opened this on Christmas morning, and by nightfall the yells and screams could be heard from those poor little fellas. Of course, one could said that that they asked for it as soon as they entered the queue, but I am not sure they were ready for that sudden drop. A few lots their hats, one guy lost his camera (who takes a camera on a roller coaster?), and another guy lost an arm. The arm was not the roller coaster or the designers fault, it was already loose to begin with and the suddenly G force on the way after the initial drop tore it off. The light kits for this are super cool. Automating it with the additional motion package is well worth it. It was well designed. It would be nice if they INCLUDED the motors in with the kit and charged additional with the motors inside. Trying to buy motors is becoming increasingly difficult and we wanted them together as they need to be built into the model when built, not after it is built as that can cause some structural issues. I have constructed over 5 larger Lego and Lego type building kits and this one was the most enjoyable. Although I had some difficulty with some of the instructions because of my sight, I could figure out what to do eventually. It's a part of the challenge. Not only was the loop coaster an attractive piece with added complimentary accessories, building the mechanical parts was educational as well as rewarding in the end to see it all work. The attention to the details was impressive. I found the packaging perfect and the step by step levels of build well done. Purchased for Thanksgiving weekend so the electronics would not be out. It was a hit with all ages. It is big and allow for extra space while assembling and for storage. As long as you follow the directions, assembly will go smoothly. Lots of cute details such as pretzels in the pretzel cart, the balloon bike and many more. LEGO definitely paid attention to roller coaster details on this one! We divided up into groups and one group had the book that came with the set, while the other were able to find the assembly directions online. Once assembled it works! you can also hook up a drill to run the coaster - but be careful not to run it too fast! Great purchase!! ... show more

    • Gotta take away one star
I enjoyed the second I really did. I really took my time and everything turned out 99% perfect. That one percent is the negative.. while assembling the track for the first loop of the coaster no matter what I did the track would not want to lineup evenly. No matter what I did. It just causes the track to have a bump in the road making it difficult for the roller coaster to work properly. Overall, I highly recommend this. It was fun to build and I’m sure you and your kids will enjoy it.. lots of details in the construction. Also be careful on the chains because I think I got one or too many chain links in my batch henceforth why the chain was loose and not lifting up the roller coaster lift. And be careful with your pieces. The reason why I said look out for your pieces is because one piece was certainly bigger than the rest in one area and it’s one of the pieces that’s holding the track together just before the first loop. 99 out 100! 😁😄😃😆😄 good luck and take your time ... show more
