This is a nice set and fun to build. My son is into Legos big time and also snowmobiles/winter so this was a prefect gift for him. It was easy to assembly for my 6 year old. It assembled easy and all the parts stayed together just as they should. The tracks were the toughest part for my son, you kind of had to stretch them over the drivers in the tracks. This kit doesn't work all that great on a hard surface, but on carpet is excellent. There is a rubber wheel in the center under the groomer that helps rotate the tracks on hard surfaces. Comparing these more recent kits vs the ones I have from 30 years ago, Legos have come a long way. The instructions are much more kid friendly. They give you a list of parts used in the upper corner of each instruction so you don't miss a part. The instructions from 30 years ago just show the assembly and you have to hunt and find what parts went where in that step. This is a quality Lego kit, unlike some of the knock off kits that just won't stay together. Buy this for your winter power sports enthusiast (even if it's an adult!).

I purchase a LOT of Lego's and this was exactly what I have come to expect from Lego. Their products are very well thought out. The pieces are exceptionally easy to put together and very easy to take apart (which you will invariably need to do!) and are very good quality. This model was no exception to my expectations. It wasn't hard to assemble, was VERY enjoyable and looks cool in my collection. It has some unique pieces - like the snow tracks. It didn't take a long time to assemble either, about one hour or so. Will I buy THIS model again? no, but if I didn't have it, I WOULD Do I recommend this? YES

This is a fun set for anyone who has ever been skiing. The vehicle looks just like the tractors used for ski run and cross country trail grooming. The assembly is easy for adults or for any kid with Lego experience. Kids would enjoy playing with it, they can simulate driving and working like any other construction toy. It displays nicely once its built because the unique parts really capture the machine and put you in mind of a past or future ski day. It's not too big to keep as a personal item on your desk or shelf. A great gift idea for the skier regardless of their age.

It’s about as painless to assemble as any other Lego set. The instructions are clear. The reason I can’t rate this Lego set five stars is its difficulty to play with. My son is five so he likes to build Lego sets and then play with them. This set is one of the worst I have seen in terms of falling apart and pieces coming off as he plays. It’s not sturdy at all, so my son gets a bit frustrated. It’s probably a great set for someone who loves to ski and wants to display it, but I don’t recommend it for younger kids who are rough with their toys.

I guess I'm going to be one of the few less-than-stellar reviews on this set. I usually enjoy every Lego set I buy and in terms of the quality of materials, the aesthetics, and the general fit & finish this one was no different - excellent as usual. What disappointed me is the design and functionality of it's main feature - the chain track drive. Based on the photos, I was really looking forward to building this because I've never owned a Lego set with continuous tracks like this. When I finally got it together, I discovered it is REALLY clunky - even for Lego. It does not roll smoothly at all, especially on hard surfaces. To me this really makes a difference in the overall enjoyment and play value. I think they needed to spend a bit more time working on this one before releasing it. It just doesn't give you a good sense of thoughtful design or enjoyment in the way that it rolls and operates. Again, not that it doesn't look good - it just doesn't do it's main function well. I feel it deserves 3, maybe 3.5 stars. ~DPL
