  • Great Reeds
Size: Strength 2.00
Really like these for Bari Sax

  • The joy of plastic reedss
Size: Strength 2.75
I wondered why Legere didn't have an American Cut baritone sax reed. I loved my tenor version and ordered one as soon asthe bari sax version was available . Many purists insist on cane reeds, but the good bari ones are expensive; plus, when the cane reed is perfectly broken in, the next step is eventual failure. The Legere reed plays perfectly right out of the box and stays that way. Two things to think about, though. The 2.75 I bought seemed kind of wimpy compared toy usual cane 3. Also, the base of the reed that's under the ligature seems thinner than the Signature model so the reed sometimes slips around unless the standard ligature is very tight. Observation: Why do plastic reed players take the reed out of the box and immediatey stick it in their mouths wjem wetting it is no longer necessary. It's almost universal. old habits die slowly, I guess . All sax players should give the Legere a try. It's very liberating. . ... show more

  • Good jazz sound
Size: Strength 2.50
I don't play my bari too often, so having synthetic reeds is really nice so I can be confident I'll have a solid sound whenever I do take it out. I recently played an un-mic'd improvised jazz solo accompanied by a 60+ person concert band using this reed, and my sound was able to cut through.

  • Legere is the best!
Size: Strength 2.50
I use Legere reeds on all my saxes and clarinets! Consistent and long lasting! The only down side is that they are quite expensive, but the company has a great reed exchange program, if a reed doesn’t work for you!

  • Hands down the ultimate solution
Size: Strength 2.50
Cane? What’s that? The old stuff they used back when people used rotary telephones? I’ve been on Legere for 5 years now. The only challenge is 1. The break in period - you want something slightly too strong for you as they get softer with first few uses. 2. The feel, they feel a bit weird at first - but now I don’t notice. I’ve saved so much money because every reed is great and each one lasts months. I can do 10+ 4 hour wedding gigs on one reed. Show me a cane reed that you can use for 40 hours! ... show more

  • Very nice for shows where you take a lot of breaks/rests
Size: Strength 2.00
I used this reed to play in my pep band at school. It doesn't freeze up in the colder season, and it doesn't need to be wet again. I alos noticed a little bit more mouthpiece craackle. Maybe it's becasue the reed can't absorb the moisture. Overall I loved it.

  • Best reeds if they work for you.
Size: Strength 2.00
These reeds eliminate many of the problems associated with cane reeds. These never dry out and are very consistent regardless of temperature and humidity. They do get softer over time 3-6 months

  • Didn’t last a month of use.

Didn’t even last a month. Going back to traditional reeds
