Before mounting I wanted to see what it looked like (in case I had to return). We were not disappointed! I'm not sure why they don't clarify this but before I bought this I looked to see if it was smart capable (works with Alexa and Google) and nobody put it in their review. App and smart features: It uses the tuya app and works with Google (I would assume Alexa too but my house is Google). With voice you can turn the heat on/off, turn the light on/off, and turn the unit on/off. It was quick to set up. In the app it has a lot more control over lighting and effects than the remote. Heating: It is putting out a surprising amount of heat. It's not winter yet so I can't really say if it will be good enough for my whole room but it definitely seems like it will. There are 3 settings, high, low, and auto. Effects: There are 2 flames (main flame and accent flame) that mix. There are led lights underneath the bottom (they call it the fuel bed). The main flame is only 1 color (reddish orange). You can change the opacity/brightness of this flame or have it off. The accent flame can be any color and the opacity/brightness can be changed. The fuel bed lights can also independently change to any color. On the tuya app it's super easy to change all of these settings. The lights are really stunning. In the box there are logs, large crystals, small crystals, black glass chips, and small pumice. The user manual has instructions on how to lay it out but it can be mixed and matched to whatever you want. Before buying this, we visited a specialty fireplace showroom and all of the units they sold just looked way too fake and cheesy (also the 60" was over $3k). Absolutely beautiful 72” fireplace. We had damage to the box when it arrived and then broken glass on the next replacement shipment but it is still worthy of 5 stars. The company was responsive and continued to support despite shipping company not handling the box well. We love the fireplace and now we can finish our media wall. ... show more

The good stuff: I bought this insert for a custom wall I was having built in my living room. After researching extensively, I found that this seemed to be the best bang for my buck. There are many less expensive options, but I couldn't find any that had the features that this one does. The color options are a lot of fun, but I'm a bit traditional, so I likely won't use those often. The crackling sound is loud as others have noted, but it is a very cool feature. I will probably only use that during parties or when we aren't watching TV. The thing I love most about this fireplace is the narrow bezel around the edge. There are many 72" options, but most of those have a bezel of several inches, so you have less fireplace. Could be better: The instructions listed the measurements differently in a few different places. This caused some rework with the framing and was a bit frustrating. Be sure to read through all the instructions first, and measure the unit before installing. The remote also not fantastic. The buttons aren't very clear in in what they do with out a reference guide. All that being said, I would buy this again no questions asked. In fact, I plan to add one to my patio and will be purchasing a smaller version for that project. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The only issue is the sound quality of the "fire" the speaker sounds low quality and makes it sound terrible. However, this was not a deal-breaker as I don't foresee the need for simulated fire audio from the fireplace. it works with google home and its simple to control with the remote or via the google home app. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I almost bought a super expensive one and glad I didn’t. This one is very nice, looks great and we can use it in the summer. In the winter it does heat a little. Our couch is close to the fireplace so it is all we need.
