As far as a ceramic goes it seems quite sturdy, and has made the task of crushing my dog's pills so I can more easily sneak them into its food quite easy. This crucible is well worth the small price... One tip: use sandpaper on the bottom and on the crusher end for a better grind. It was a bit rough for my needs.

I had an old mortar and pestle that were made of some kind of soapstone or something and were really small. I’m really happy with this one. I love that it’s white so I can tell if it’s been washed, and it even has a spout! Very nice for the price, and very pretty too.

VERY small (looks like alabaster) set. The pedestal is so short that my knuckles rub/ grind on the top edges. This feature makes grinding large hard vitamin difficult.
