This is an interesting light that can be a statement piece in a room. We put it in our master bedroom. It hangs down a bit farther than we would like but that might be our fault for not having the installer hang it differently. This is a cool-looking dimmable light fixture. The metal is sturdy without it being too heavy. The acrylic/plastic (from where the light comes through), is plastic looking, but you don't focus on it when the lights are on, really. It is a really nice addition to my dining room stepping things up from an older fixture I had. My handyman tells me it was an easy installation..
