We have a Viking Microwave/Convection/Exhaust hood. It shipped with two 20W incandescent/halogen bulbs to light the cooktop below. So 40 watts total. It was not very bright. I wanted a brighter light, and the specs said one could put in two 40 watt bulbs for a total of 80 watts. I purchased two of these bulbs to replace what the unit shipped with. The total is like 6 watts for the two LED bulbs. The 3000K color is GREAT, the amount of lumens is now double what it was before, and the cost was minimal. I was so frustrated with buying those replacement bulbs from Home Depot or Lowe's. They would last a few months and then go out and then I'd have to purchase another $9 mini bulb. These look very solidly made and with the LED they should last a long time. Great lighting too!

The incandescent bulbs originally used in the over-the-stove / under microwave hood unit in our townhome were pricey and they burned out SO quickly because I love leaving the light on as a nightlight at night. I was hoping we could find an LED replacement and these are PERFECT! Plus, they provide a much brighter light than the incandescent bulbs. These are bright white, however, and I do wish there was a soft white option. But ... all things considered ... I'm perfectly happy with these and am hoping (and assuming) to get a nice long life from these and without the heat generated by the incandescent bulbs. ... show more
