I had a different candle package from this same company. I returned these for the other style. The reason for the return was: 1) Different color than the other set - yellowish vs ivory. 2) Did not seem to flicker. 3) Light went all the way to the bottom and the others I have do not (as they look like a real candle with light only on the top part). That is a preference. 4) I really did not like the battery cover. It was hard to turn and open. Would not be good for an older person as it is hard for me to turn. Also very inconvenient that you have to open the bottom of the candle to get to the switch. So if the candles are waiting for the right time to set the timers you have to leave the turn cover off the bottom until they are set. I did not like this at all. 5) The other set I have is real wax. This is good and bad. Wax is more real candle like but these resin/plastic candles would be easier to clean the dust off than the wax. The wax set will scratch off if you are putting it in a glass pillar candle holder. It has done that fore me and there are wax streaks on the glass. Hard to clean. I think the wax version is more elegant and real looking. Plastic is probably good for outdoors if recommended. These plastic versions seemed to be somewhat decent quality but "looked" on the cheaper side. Depends on your taste, I guess. I have no photos as I returned already.

So, the candles are relatively real looking with the exception of the orange glow. Which is why it gets four stars. In fairness, I read the reviews and there were a few who stated this, but I thought their preference might have influenced the review. But they were right. I do love the remote control function, and can live with the glow…I mean, they are fake! Over time it kind of grows on you; we turn them on and don’t think about it as much. Otherwise, I also purchased the tea light versions and excited to see them working.

Good product. You have to remove the bottom to turn off and on prior to using the remote. Pretty bright. They look great for what I needed.

Look cheap and cannot access switch without taking off the bottom so you must use the remote

These are well worth the purchase and reasonably priced~! I have a huge deck, so I have a couple grouped together and spread out on different tables, along with soft solar outside lights on beams that all pulls it together and is fabulous. These are handy with the remote you can use from a distance, but they go off automatically after 6 hours.
