I have my embroidery machine in the corner of the room where there are no windows. I have a floor lamp for the area but find myself getting tripped up by it sometimes when I try to move my chair, so I decided I wanted a lamp that would fit on the table edge. This articulated lamp really fits the bill! It has three LED light bands and a touch activated control unit (4 sections total) that can be positioned for optimal light coverage wherever you need it. I can easily raise and lower the lamps, twist the entire unit up to 360 degrees and change the angle of each band (between 270 - 290 degrees each segment) so I can surround myself with light. It has an option to change the color temperature and brightness - although I always choose max brightness and cool white light when I am sewing. It also folds up to a very small size if you want to store it. It is lightweight but very sturdy. The lamp comes with a power transformer that detaches for ease of plugging into a power outlet and enough cord length to go around anything in the way. It does not have a stand, so it does not monopolize your valuable desk space. Instead, it grips the side of your table or desk (up to about a 2" thickness) with an integrated C-clamp and has a very small footprint at the edge of the desk. This is a multi-purpose desk/table lamp that could work well for lots of different uses, but it is great for sewing or other crafts. I highly recommend it. ... show more

Very impressed with this lamp. It has both a small footprint, and easily adjustable stand to bring light to whatever endeavor I am undertaking at my desk. I use it primarily for lighting when drawing but quickly raise and move it to use as my everyday desk lamp when I am working. The adjustable brightness and temperature are a super feature for my use.
