The media could not be loaded. Me and my husband have a small business where we do a lot of leather working. We always assumed something like this was out of reach for us due to cost. So we've been making due with a burnisher tool on a dremmel/rotary tool. When we burned out ours, started looking again and finally came across this machine in several places for half the cost of most leather companies. With it being on Amazon, I thought, why not give it a shot? This is a huge game changer! So far we've been super pleased with it, the wheel is super nice, and the sanding side is a great addition.     • Repackaged “broken” machine
It came repackaged and the base was broken the materials bag was open it was missing tools and other pieces to put it together correctly

    • sanding belts for contact wheel are incorrect size, and are too large for wheel.
Machine is a nice machine for the price. Biggest complaint is that the sanding sleeves are too large for the rubber contact wheel that came with the machine, so basically I have a burnisher without sanding capabilities.

i bought this unit for slicking leather edges because i didn't want to pay Tandy prices for the same unit. but what i found out is, that the motor and the slicking drum work great (just don't drop the wooden drum) cracks easy. it's the rubber sanding drum that comes with the unit, it's to large for standard sanding sleeves. so with some modifications to the unit I've been able to use normal sanding sleeves. but otherwise the unit is great for the money you pay for it and its a lot cheaper than the alternative. ... show more

    • Works good, but missing items.
Tandy sells a machine very similar to this, but for much more. I did have a few parts missing, and the sanding grits stated on the product list are incorrect. On the burnishing wheel it didnt come with the set screws, also it shows in the picture having a washer on the burnishing wheel which it did not come with. I was able to find the set screws at home depot along with the washers. I didnt contact the seller, because I wanted to use the machine immediately.     • Burning smell and smoke
I opened the box up and I must say it looked pretty good and well packed. I set it on the table read the instructions. Everything went together pretty good. Ready to test. I got a piece of leather to burnish the edge and turned the machine on and right away it had a burning smell . I thought maybe since it was new it was just that way. I put the leather to the sanding wheel and started lightly sanding. Then I started burnishing the edge and then it started smoking like it was on fire. It smoked up the whole shop. ... show more

I purchased this machine a few months ago and it has held up well thus far. I like the adjustable speed control and it's very quiet when I'm using it. I did find it difficult to put the sandpaper on the drum so I'm trying to figure out a better way to do it.
