Back in 1985, I can remember the baby monitor we had with our first child. It was basically a walkie-talkie transmitter and plugged in monitor that would constantly transmit the sound of whatever was happening in baby's room. What a wonder in 1985! Today's baby monitors are quite a step up. This LeapFrog model is loaded with tech and features that give you clear sound and flexible video access to your child from anywhere in your house. It even offers limited interaction and some environmental data for baby's room. Out of the box the system is easy to set up and use. Just plug both the camera and receiver in and switch them on. (Once charged, you can use both without the power cords.) Both the receiver and the camouflaged camera (It looks like a cute baby toy.) are sturdy and well made. Both seem constructed to survive any abuse a baby or toddler might throw at them. From being gnawed on by a teething crawler to being knocked to the floor by an adventuresome toddler, these baby tools are not toys. They are serious equipment for tracking your children. It comes with a decent manual, but it's fairly easy to play with the different buttons and just follow the icons to what does what. From up to 1000 feet away you can observe your baby's room through a full-color, five-inch screen. Using the monitor, you can swing the camera a full 360 degrees left and right or 90 degrees up and down making the entire room fully visible. Sounds come through clear and fully audible. In addition, the system has the ability to play five different, soft, soothing melodies or different relaxing nature sounds like rain, crickets or birds chirping. You can even speak to your child through the two-way sound system and sing a soft lullaby or a loving command to "stop climbing over the crib!" The battery can run the camera for up to seventeen hours of full streaming video/audio or thirty-one of just audio. The system even has a monitor feature that can warn you when the temperature of baby's room goes above or below your setting. It even has a three-level sound monitor that will alert you when loud noises occur. We're giving this monitor to one of our nieces and her husband, for their new baby. Compared the one we bought so long ago, this one is certainly dramatically improved. It's not exactly cheap, but I think it makes a wonderful gift for anyone blessed with raising a child.

Personally, Leapfrog is one of my most favorite, trusted brands. You know when you purchase ANY Leap product you will receive quality merchandise. I have been a parent for over 24 yrs and have purchased hundreds of Leap products in my nearly 2 and a half decades of parenthood. I have never been disappointed. My youngest child is 4 yrs old and was born with Down Syndrome. I have purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars in Leap products specifically for him. He owns just about every toy Leap has to offer, I even stay current with new releases. Because of the Down Syndrome he does have some significant delays and with the delays comes a multitude of therapies. Leapfrog toys have purpose and have became a constant in his therapies. Of course, this isn't a toy review. This is a baby monitor. Here recently, I've realized I should've ordered a baby monitor. He's no longer a baby, but he is slowly catching up with big milestones. I can't always keep eyes on him. I may need to go to the kitchen or bathroom while he's playing. Never for more than a minute or two but I can't stay up under him all the time and he doesn't necessarily wanna be dragged around the house. He's too large for a baby bed or pack n play. Plus, after all his delays and now he's finally starting to catch up, the last thing I want to do is coup him up. So I needed a solution. Baby Monitor. I was more than pleased and excited to see this Leapfrog baby monitor pop up. It is a blessing. The product arrived as described. No wifi needed. I have been hesitant about baby monitors because of the wifi. I didn't want one with wifi. I wanted the old school antenna plug and go. So this was another bit of excitement and another blessing...a baby monitor I'm actually comfortable using. This monitor is SIMPLE to use. It's literally plug and go. First, you do need to charge the parent handheld monitor for 12 hours. After you charge it, you plug the camera up and turn the motor on....that's it. There's a few bells and whistles like lullabies and white noise. Camera can also be mounted. Everything is in the box. We've used the monitor now for 2 days. It has been great with no problems. I highly recommend this product. Great for new moms, or old moms like myself. Dads, grandparents, any caregiver, daycare, etc. Its a fantastic value, a fantastic product. Ohhh, and animal parents too! It would be great for pets, and not hard on the wallet.

This is a very nice baby monitor setup. It is super easy to set up and has a ton of features. The 2 way audio is particularly helpful for toddlers. The battery life is excellent and if you can pick this up on sale it is an amazing value for what you get. We have a pretty large house and the range is great too. My only complaint is why not usb-c for charging?! That is the universal standard at this point.

The baby monitor was easy to setup and has some really solid features, but it’s not perfect. The 5-inch color screen is clear and easy to see, even in night vision mode. I also really like that it’s non-WiFi and uses secure FHSS, which gives peace of mind knowing it’s not connected to the internet. The remote pan, tilt, and zoom work smoothly, and the 2-way talk feature is helpful for calming baby without going into the room. The battery life is impressive and lasts a long time between charges. However, I was disappointed to find out that it does not record video. There’s no playback option or way to save clips, which would have been really useful for reviewing sleep patterns or capturing special moments. I expected at least some recording capability. Overall, it’s a good basic monitor with strong video and security features, but the lack of recording is a drawback and something buyers should definitely be aware of.

After using the LeapFrog LeapView 360 Baby Monitor for a couple of weeks, I can confidently say it’s one of those parenting tools that quickly goes from “nice to have” to “how did I live without this?” Right out of the box, setup was refreshingly simple- no WiFi pairing headaches, no app downloads, just a secure and reliable connection that immediately felt more private and stable than internet-based monitors. That alone gives peace of mind, especially with concerns around digital security. The 5-inch color screen is very crisp, even in low light. Night vision is clear enough to see every little movement, which makes those midnight check-ins much less stressful. The 360° pan, tilt, and zoom control is a standout feature. The camera can be adjusted remotely and allows parents to keep an eye on every corner of the crib or play area without stepping into the room and risking waking up baby. Battery life is another win. I've reviewed several baby monitors at this point. I would say I have tested no less than 10 different brands. This leapfrog version makes for a decent panning baby cam, but I wish there were some changes that would have made it better. It comes with everything you need to set it up: camera, monitor, two identical power plugs (one for the monitor, one for the camera), a mounting thing with screws. It seems odd to have to list this as a positive thing, but some brands do not provide you with two power cables. They expect you to charge the monitor one the one they give you, then use that same cable to power the camera. Luckily, this provides two so there is no issue with swapping cables back and forth. The function is simple and straight-forward. It works the moment it's plugged in. The camera pans very smoothly and is super quiet in movement. The menus are intuitive. The screen is also quite large for a baby cam, which makes for easy viewing. One down side is that when it originally started, the color was off. However, after switching between night mode and back to day mode, the color was fine. The picture quality is more than sufficient for baby cam purposes. Now, the things I wish it had: 1. USB-C power plugs. These use specific barrel connector plugs, which is fine, but if you lose it, you are out of luck on this system. 2. The camera does not use a universal camera/tripod mount. While it comes with a mounting device, a universal tripod mount means you can use anything to mount it up, including using a floor stand meant for other brands. Overall, still a quality camera system if you don't plan to use a universal tripod mount.

This has been a great video monitor for our little one’s room. We feel comfortable about their safety and privacy thanks to the WiFi only connection. It was easy to setup using my phone and easy to mount the camera using a stand I have. The battery life is strong and the video quality has been very clear for us even at night. We also love that it tells us the room temperature at any given time. Overall it’s a great value for the money especially when it’s on sale. Leapfrog is a brand I feel like I can trust with baby gear and this camera is no different
