  • A solid learning system with some limitations
The LeapFrog LeapMove Active Learning Video Game System offers a fun way to get younger kids moving while they learn. The motion-based activities are simple and engaging, and the educational content covers early skills like letters, numbers, and basic problem‑solving. It’s clearly designed with younger children in mind, and the interface is easy enough for them to navigate with minimal help. That said, the graphics and gameplay feel dated compared to modern consoles and tablets, and the motion tracking isn’t always precise. Some games hold attention longer than others, and older kids may outgrow the system fairly quickly. Content variety is decent, but additional games can add to the overall cost. Overall,it’s a good fit for parents looking for a screen‑light, movement‑focused learning option for preschool‑aged children, but it may feel limited for families expecting more advanced or long‑term entertainment ... show more

  • Lots of fun
We had a lot of LeapFrog toys for our kids as they were growing up, and I’ve always appreciated how well the brand blends learning with genuine fun. With my goddaughter visiting for the holidays, we figured the LeapMove would be fun for her, and it absolutely delivered. The setup seemed straight forward, but I headed over to the support site to see if there were any tips and tricks and found out there was an update and some bonus games available. I took care of all that prior to setting it up on my tv. Once my goddaughter arrived, we got her started right away. She loved seeing herself on screen while playing, and the games kept her laughing, moving, and learning all at once. She’s been having a wonderful time with it, and her parents appreciate that it keeps her happily entertained while still offering educational value. For the price, it’s a great buy. It's engaging, easy to use, and packed with the kind of playful learning LeapFrog has always done so well. I’m glad to see LeapFrog continuing to make smart, kid‑friendly toys that families can feel good about. ... show more

  • Great learning and workout for kids (and Adults too)
This is such a fun learning game system. My kids get to learn so much...be attentive, learn and workout all at once. The best time I bought this was great for the times when we are indoors more due to weather! Very durable, connection was very easy and one simple button vs many. Value for the money is I believe great investment than kids sitting around not learning and playing other uneducated brain rotting games or tv. This game system has the option to download two games for free and I believe 3-4 new games that just came out to purchase! O have added 4 more games and so far my kid enjoys playing it! You won't be disappointed with the experience seeing your kids have fun and learn! ... show more

  • It didn’t work for us.
The Leap Move was ultimately a miss for our family. Mainly due to performance issues. Here’s the details. The concept of a controller-free game system is appealing, but the execution proved frustrating. Pros: Controller-Free Concept: The idea of using natural body movements to control the game (raising one arm to select, crossing arms to exit) is excellent and removes the barrier of complex controllers for little hands. The concept is a pro. Price Point: At $69, the system is a relatively affordable Plug and Play: The system is easy to turn on set up initially. Cons/Challenges: Slow Response Times: This was a major point of frustration, especially for a 3 1/2-year-old. Difficult for active preschoolers: Our 3-year-old struggled to stand still for the 3 minutes often needed during gameplay or selection. Navigation Issues: Long pauses after making a selection and the inability to fast-forward through tutorials and storylines hindered gameplay. Camera Sensitivity: Interference from other movements (siblings, pets, or parents walking by) in the camera's view consistently threw the game off. Limited Audience: It’s for younger children. So family play with older siblings isn’t ideal. While the concept of the LeapMove is "awesome" for active family play, it needs fine-tuning. The system's technical limitations outweigh its conceptual strengths, making it a miss for us. ... show more

  • I’m giving it 4 stars for the idea and the educational value.
Even though I’m returning the game, I actually really liked it! It’s fun, creative, and very educational is perfect for kids who love to learn while playing. At first, it had some glitches, but once I connected it to my laptop and updated the system, everything worked much smoother. The gameplay is great, though the camera quality could be better. My only real issue is that switching or exiting games isn’t very easy. A small remote or a simpler menu would make a big difference. I’m giving it 4 stars for the idea and the educational value. I truly hope they release an upgraded version I’d definitely buy it again! ... show more

  • My grandkids love this new LeapMove product. It is a great value for the money!
My colleagues were talking about this fantastic new LeapFrog product, how excited their kids were to play it, and how the kids were learning and having a blast while getting some exercise. So I decided to buy it for my grandsons to see if it would keep them active and entertained. We are one day into it, and I am writing this note to say it was a big hit with the kids (and adults, too, truth be told!). This is a great product, especially given its low price compared to others. I was astonished at how many educational activities, games, and dances are included, plus you can download more! (I haven't downloaded any other games yet since I just purchased it.) Fortunately, I ordered a second one for our niece and nephew that we will take to their place for Thanksgiving to keep the kids busy. We aren't waiting for Christmas to share this with them! Plus, this is the kind of item that sells out quickly, so I'm glad I bought these now! ... show more

  • Need a large room for this to work.
Kind of cute but it takes alot of effort for it to read your signals for the games. U need a large room to set this up in. Does not work unless u have at least 6 to 10 feet of space between you and you tv to play this. Otherwise not too bad. Quality of picture could be more 21st century. Its like a 70s picture Quality. ... show more

  • Finally, screen time that actually burns off some energy!
I bought this for my 5-year-old to help with some kindergarten prep while keeping him active during the winter months. Overall, it’s a big hit in our house! The Good: • Super Easy Setup: It literally takes 5 minutes. You just plug the HDMI and USB into the TV and you're ready to go. No complicated accounts or Wi-Fi setup needed. • Actually Active: My son isn’t just sitting there; he’s jumping, waving his arms, and "flying" to catch numbers and letters. It’s like a kid-friendly version of the old Kinect. • Educational: It covers the basics well—phonics, counting, and simple math. I love that it has 3 different learning levels so it can grow with him. Things to Know: • Lighting Matters: If the room is too dark or has too much glare, the camera struggles to see the "player." We had to move a lamp to get it to track his movements correctly. • Space: You need a decent amount of clear floor space (about 5-6 feet) so the camera can see the child's whole body. Bottom Line: Great for ages 4-6. It’s not a high-end gaming console, but for the price, it’s a fantastic way to make learning feel like a game ... show more
