This was my first Mechanical Keyboard ever and I bought a cheap one to just try. But I am pleasantly surprised. I tried a brown switch after this keyboard and am coming back to purchase another of these as this is superior. For me, the best part of this keyboard is the rebound that one gets when they press a key that makes my mind not have to slow down for my fingers. I'm sure the sound actually makes one faster as they know they've pressed a key. Also, not having the ten key actually makes my movements from keyboard to mouse easier and I find I do not actually use the ten key that much in my work or personal life. I have a friend who is an aficionado of Mechanical Keyboards and he was very surprised I could get one for such a good deal (he paid ~$140 for his brown switch keyboard) and he thought the keys were very similar to name brand Cherry switches. This Keyboard doesn’t have a way of knowing if CapsLock is enabled which is so annoying when typing passwords.

Very nice keyboard, but as I’m waiting for it to be delivered I realized I didn’t order a less noisy keyboard, a little loud for the room, but all in all not bad, make sure you keep blue paper!

    • Fruit salad backlight colors and annoying animation modes
While the keys have a nice feel, it is impossible to make backlight colors tolerable. All I wanted was a single backlight color to make the keys visible in a darkened room.     • Great If You Don't Need the Numeric Keypad
This is a nice compact keyboard. The blue switches (the standardized color of the switches under each key cover) does exactly what blue switches do - each key makes a quite loud "click" sound and you get slight tactile feedback to your fingers knowing the key snapped. I never used a blue-key keyboard before. I learned to type on an IBM Selectric typewriter as a kid, and the move to the IBM and Dell computer keyboards in the late 80's was natural. Then came the soft keyboards, cheaply made, along with laptop keyboards. I was hoping this blue-key keyboard would be similar to the IBM and Dell keyboards from decades ago. Sadly, it is a poor imitation. The keys clack with a high-pitched sound, not the "thump" we knew of early keyboards. The tactile feel is also much lighter than the old keyboards. I watched reviews on YouTube comparing the different key colors and blue seemed closest to the old keyboards. Still, they aren't close. Don't get me wrong - this keyboard is the beast one I have used in 20 years. Better than the standard office keyboards with no sound or feel. But not my old IBM or Dell (or even their competitors) from 1990. I did not think I would miss the numeric keypad, but I do. The keyboard is colorful - this is the only backlit keyboard I ever used and I LOVE it. When I plugged it in it could not wake up the computer from sleep (but the mouse woke it up). ... show more
