Bought this to replace the OE jack for my 2017 Subaru Outback (which I abused & broke). This jack is as good or better quality than the OE jack, and fits nicely in the same trunk compartment spot. The jack has an removeable lift screw that allows for extra jacking height if needed. The only slightly annoying issue is when not using this screw, there is no place to attach it to the jack... so could be easy to misplace or lose this extra screw pad. I had a flat today 11/08/2023 on my Tesla model Y. I tried using this jack and it would not lift the Model Y. The ratchet would turn and raised until the jack was loaded by the vehicle weight. The ratchet would turn but the jack was not moving under load. I could not even lower the jack under the loaded condition. I had to use a portable hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle higher in order to remove remove the failed jack. Fortunately I was at home when this occurred. ... show more

Use of this is self-explanatory if you've ever used a scissor jack before. Works just fine for me. Seems quite well-made and finished. Note that the ratchet-lift is "easier" in that it requires less effort BUT it will probably take many 180-degree or so operations of the ratchet to jack up your car and get the tire off the ground. I knew this when purchasing, and a quick test on an actual 4,000 lb. car proved to me that it works as it should. Remember that lifting 1 corner of a 4,000 lb. car is nowhere near the 1.8 ton rating - that's metric tons, so almost 4,000 lbs. anyway - of the jack, so this was just fine. The easily attached/removed extension can be a plus if you both have the ground clearance and need more height. Quite pleased with this. ... show more
