I have tried many rechargeable lanterns before buying this one. All the others were not worth their claim for higher than 1000 lumens for a higher a price. I tried a 2500 lumen, 1800 lumen and a 1500 lumen lantern, all that cost way more than this and returned them all. I didn't expect much out of this lantern when I saw the size of it, but holy crap this thing is bright. The first setting I was like good lord that's bright. The second setting was a yellow light, I guess it's softer for your eyes, but the third setting is both lights and I swear it, but don't look at the lens. It's super bright. There is a strobe light that is for emergencies but either the first or third setting will be my go to. Pros: 1. Super bright and way cheaper than other lanterns that claim to have higher lumens. 2. Really light weight and small size. 3. Handle on the top and bottom makes it easier to hang on different objects. 4. Feels well built Cons: 1. It charges using a Micro USB cable. I really wished it used a type C instead. 2. Charging seems to take a long time. 3. No battery indicator. I really wish there was a way to tell how much battery is remaining. 4. Battery life is shorter than other lanterns I tried, but I was using this lantern at max brightness. Adjust the dimmer on the light settings and you will have plenty of battery left for a weekend camping trip. Conclusion: If you want a amazing camping lantern that is more than plenty bright, I highly recommend this. It's small size, long lasting battery if you dim the light down will be plenty for your camping trips. You are able to use it as a battery pack to charge your other devices, but let's face it, you go camping to get away. In a emergency that is a option at the cost of lowering the amount of time you have in a light.

It runs on two 18650 batteries. It also comes with a USB charging cable, you will need to supply your own USB charging adapter. Also this version does not have the blinking green indicator light which you couldn’t turn off with the earlier versions of the 500 lumen lantern. That feature was later removed by the manufacture due to customer complaints. That was a feature to help you find the lantern in the dark. The reviews here look like they are for the older 500 lumen version which was run on 3 “D” size batteries. It looks like I am the first person to review the new upgraded 1000 lumen rechargeable version. This upgraded version of the lantern is great! This is the best lantern that I have had yet both bulb type and LED type. It is extremely bright!! The lens can be unscrewed and removed which will make the light even brighter. The 6000K mode is very white. 3000K mode is similar to a household soft white light bulb. 6000K+3000K mode is a combination of the two modes. The fourth mode is a flashing mode which uses the 6000K+3000K mode. The dimming feature is an excellent feature to have. This allows you to dim down the light if it is too bright for what you need. The dimming feature works in three modes: 6000K, 3000K, and 6000K+3000K combo. This lantern does not support “fast charging” which would have been nice to have. The manual says to charge at 5V/1A. It takes about 8 hours to fully charge the batteries. Runtime is said to be 12 hours on 3000K mode, 8 hours on 6000K mode, and 6.5 hours on 6000K+3000K mode. I assume that these are all on the highest settings so running them dimmer will increase the run times. * My lantern was shipped in a bubble wrap. The lantern was on when I opened the box and it was warm but not hot. Somewhere in shipping the package got pressed down and turned on the lantern. The battery still had a good amount of power in it and it charged up fully. * Update * I had the lantern charging and was going though the light modes, the lantern shut off and would not come back on again. I tried disconnecting the charging cable and waiting for a while and then tried to turn the light on, it would not turn on. I also tried charging it for a while, the charging light on the lantern would not come on. I talked to amazon tech support on the phone and they had me return the lantern for an exchange as I really like the lantern and didn't want to get a refund. I also talked to the lantern manufacture and they said that the lantern can be used while it is charging, it will just take longer to charge. They also said not to use the lantern as a power bank and charge the battery at the same time.

Directions are great, the light functions and very bright and you can chose brightness levels and you can remove the cover and will find a hanger clip on the bottom of the light so you can hang this upside down for a very bright lighting area. Will work outside on a camping table as well as inside the camper. We have not used it camping yet as it is winter and snow in Montana. We run on mostly solar for the RV so look forward to having this rechargeable and power bank that can be used to charge our cell phone if need be. Our camper is wired to charge many items and this lantern is one we can plug into our camper or our spare battery we use to charge up many items. This spring this will get the full workout. Right now it is in the house to have something for light if we loose power. Nice compact size as well and heavy construction.

It's very bright, and it is light, and great at night so you don't trip on the ground when walking around. But, the best feature on this is the dimming, done by holding the on-button down until the light is just right. And it's rechargeable, so you don't have to carry around spare batteries, or dispose of spent ones while fishing or camping. And the mixed warm and white light mode is cool - but the flashy-thingy mode is not. Never will be. But, unlike their rechargeable torch, that mode can be by-passed by simply leaving it on for a count of five before turning it off. Then, when it's turned back on, it starts at Mode 1, the bright, white light. Their rechargeable torch, which I just mentioned, is particularly annoying for not being programmed to do this because it has five modes including two flashy-thingy modes. Ugh. However, this lantern has one little design flaw that might drive the OCD camper nuts. The removable cover doesn't line up square with the body when locked in place. I tried to fix it - over and over again - but just couldn't. *UPDATE* -- "THE REMOVABLE COVER DOES, TOO, LINE UP! YOU'VE JUST GOT TO TWIST IT REAL HARD." Thanks to my wife for discovering that! Oh, there is one more thing - The control circuitry will not let the lantern completely drain the battery, meaning that when the green "On" light goes red, it won't be long before the lantern just shuts off, even though there's still enough current in the battery to keep it dimly lit. You can turn it back on, but after about 20 seconds it will shut off again. Unexpected and perturbing? Well, I can imagine night-time scenarios where that would be a problem; kinda like shutting off your car engine when the gas is just low. I don't think I'm fond of that feature. How about you? Overall, though, it's not a bad little light.

This is a great little lantern. It is not that big/heavy so perfect for camping (I did not take it backpacking). It lights up a campsite, but is really well suited for hanging in a tent. It has a clip on the base and the shield pops off to just the bulb if you want. Since it is not that heavy, it easily hangs in a tent without causing any bowing. It charges quickly and seems to hold a charge pretty well

These are awesome for when the power goes out! High, low and SOS settings. And when I say bright-they are extremely bright! They have a handle, so you can carry them where you need light. Charging is simple and you can even charge your cell phone with them (read instructions). They are not big for what they have to offer! We've had them for awhile and still can't believe how bright they are for as small as they are! Easy to charge, very lightweight, high quality for the money. I have dropped one and they are very durable! These have so many uses, from power outages to camping to finding something under the bed or in a closet, just to name a few!
