    • Exactly what I needed
I needed this to install rear camera on my Dodge Diesel extended cab. The cable that came with the stereo is obviously intended for a car. This solved my problem and works well. No need for extenders that always seem to fail over time.

    • Shielded or not, worked great
IDK if this is actually properly shielded cable or not, honestly, I didn't even worry about it as I was installing it. I have a bit of an odd use case as I used this for my 35-foot 5th-wheel camper. I recently purchased a new head unit/radio for my truck which meant that I no longer had a place to hard mount the wireless backup camera monitor I used for my camper. I ended up purchasing a wireless RCA unit & I plugged the receiver into one of the video inputs on my new 'radio' while plugging a new backup camera into the wireless transmitter, however, the wireless is not great so I had to get the transmitter as close to the truck as possible, hence the need for this RCA video input cable. In the end, I routed this cable from the rear 'bumper' (I say bumper but honestly, my camper doesn't have any type of bumper, just assume I mean the very end of my camper) up to the front of the camper where my propane tanks are stored. The propane storage area has access to the dual lithium batteries, so it was pretty straight-forward to wire things up to the batteries, along with a cut-off switch and viola, the camper backup camera was clearly visible via the new 'radio' in the truck with the push of a button. ... show more

Like a dummy, I actually end up snipping my video wire for my backup camera when working on some taillight wiring on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ. I was happy to find a replacement wire, that also anticipated for the length I would need, as I like to make sure that all the wiring is tucked up nicely and hidden behind my trim panels, meaning I need a lot of excess wire to make things route properly. I chose this particular cable from the many options because it said it was "Special customized upgraded version of thickened RCA extension cable, and double the diameter of the old Version. To provide quality video cable, we use oxygen-free pure copper core as the cable conductor material 100% shielded, offering superb protection against EMI/RFI interference" It has absolutely no shield at all, instead, the shield ground is carried on an additional. black wire. The cable is not extra thick, it is the same, small 3mm diameter that came with the camera originally. I had to cut the cable for my installation, and I didn't have time to find a replacement, so I am stuck with it, but if you are considering it based on the hyped-up claims of shielding and thickened outer skin, do not buy this one! ... show more
