    • Durable and stylish.
THE only part of the belt that does not last damage well is scratches on the full-metal buckle, but that's inherent to all belts of this type so it's not out of the ordinary. Casual wear should see a long life. I wore this belt as a stylish work belt in both white collar, highly-mobile environment, and daily west in an industrial kitchen. A quick wipe of any soil and scent removal and I can take the belt off my work pants, and wear it to a nice dinner. Simple & plain design that is stylish and workplace compatible gives lots of versatility. The belt is like a ratcheting cinch with a release lever, usability is better than any other belt I've owned. The design of the locking mechanism means there will be virtually no wear/weathering on the face (outward) side, like with clamps or peg-hole types. And because of that the belt lasts a LONG time with no significant signs of wear. It will last YEARS looking like new if you wear it casually/lightly. If you buy all the colors you want and rotate, you can get probably 4+ years of of them I think. You do have to cut the belt to size, but that means it will be a perfect fit. If not, you cut it. Be sure to burn frays and also cut LONGER than you need. Both for mistakes and also, eventually, the teeth locking in the buckle end (cut side) will loosen and the belt will start slipping off the buckle, you can extend the service life by re-cutting if you have room. The only reason I'm replacing is because I don't have room to cut any more without making it look mis-sized, and the new buckle will be packed away until the current one breaks... if it even can break (no significant signs of possible mechanical failure). My current buckle has many, many scratches but is only noticeable up close because the metal is also black like the coating (your buckle may vary). Honestly, if anyone's looking that close at the buckle it probably won't matter that it has scratches, and they're probably just using it as an excuse to look at something else ;) You can even scour thre buckle and intentionally give it a weathered look if you don't mind. Also a GREAT belt if you have goals of losing weight, as you can re-cut to your new size as you size-down. If you're considering, just buy it. You won't regret it. ... show more

Update May 7, 2021: It's been almost 3 years. This belt is still worn daily. It's looking a bit scratched up, but the mechanism still works like it was brand new. The belt is separating in places and falling apart. I've had to cut additional pieces off the buckle end of the belt because the teeth that hold the buckle to the belt stopped gripping the belt and would fall off at inopportune times. All in all, I've worn this belt, daily -- even throughout the pandemic -- for 36 days short of 3 years and it still is wearable and the mechanism works like new, but it is worn, and it is time to replace it. I will buy another one just like it. Update May 17, 2019: It's been almost 1 year. This belt has been worn daily. For the most part, it still looks and works like new. But I have one complaint that I didn't have a year ago. The buckle portion has started falling off the belt every few days or so. The teeth that grab the end of the belt no longer hold it securely. I will need to cut another half inch off the end and re-seat the teeth into the end of the belt so it holds it tight again. No stars removed from my review. End of Update. I LOVE this belt. I will wear a belt until if falls apart. For me, that's often 3 to 5 years of everyday use. Then comes the time to buy a new belt and I can never remember how to size a belt. Is it my waist size? Is it an inch or two longer or shorter? I just never remember. This belt is truly a one size fits all and it's up to me to cut it to size. The instructions in the product description said to add 9 inches to my waist size and cut the belt at that length. The instructions that came with the belt, said to add 7 inches to my waist size and cut the belt at that length. I chose to err on the side of caution and add 9 inches to my waist size and make the cut there. I figured that I could always cut it again if it was too long. Well, with waist + 9 inches, it really is too long, but I've been wearing it like that for a few weeks now. When the belt was brand new, I could hear the crispness of the ratchet. But now with a few weeks of wear, the ratchet sound is much quieter. I'm hopeful that it just means that it's getting broken in, not worn out. But still, I've got another couple of inches to cut off, so if it wears out, I can cut it again, which will move the spot where the ratchet catches and it should work like new again. I would definitely buy this belt again. I might even buy a couple others in different colors. And certainly they would make good gifts. ... show more

They are good quality, but for some reason, they don't last longer than a year or two. The leather isn't of great quality it just rips after some time. The release mechanism is solid, never breaks or causes any issues.

You don't even read the reviews. You just buy it. Now, your mistake was thinking this was some ordinary belt. The package comes, All you have to do is unwrap it and wear it. But man, it's not that simple. This is a Ratchet belt with an Automatic Buckle. And it's the perfect belt for the entrepreneur or the person who just has to solve problems. It's the perfect belt for someone who's committed to figuring out complicated instructions. It's the perfect belt for the man who's too proud to ask for directions.     • Makes a Huge Difference In My Life! GENIUS Belt Design!
I have been looking for a belt just like this without knowing it until I found it! My weight fluctuates up and down rather drastically. The only kind of belt that I can rely on is the stretch kind. However, you *cannot* wear it as a dress belt. Unfortunately, dress belts do not usually come to fit *ANY* size, and often the holes leave the belt a little too loose or a little too tight, which is aggravating. And then I read the description of this belt: It tightens by RATCHETING!! Brilliant! AND it is reasonably priced. I bought one, and am so thrilled with the buckle options and especially how simple it is to fit PERFECTLY, I bought a 2nd one to give to a friend for Christmas. I've rarely been so excited and appreciative of such a practical item. GREAT PRODUCT! I cannot recommend it more highly! P.S. I gave the belt to my friend Christmas Eve and he wore it to a family Christmas party today. He called afterwards and confessed that at first he thought, "Oh. A belt. Meh!" But now that he's worn it, he gets how great it is. He could not say enough about it, just like me. He also pointed out a feature that shows what amazing attention to details the company makes. They tool on the reverse side of the belt a *guide* to show where to cut it for your waist size. That really is a perfect touch that further distinguishes this particular belt. I pointed out that they have a terrific selection of buckles to choose from, and since I ordered his belt with the same buckle I had chosen, he might want to see if there was a design he would like more. He told me he can't imagine a better design than the one he has. The is a great belt, brilliantly designed in every regard, and once again, at a truly reasonable price.
