I purchased the same belt last year ("Lavemi Men's Real Leather Ratchet Dress Casual Belt" ). Obviously I love it. Style looks amazing. The #1 reason why I bought this belt: THE RATCHET; super easy to adjust and take off. My first belt still works and is amazing; it just has a lots of scratches over the years; I bought a different color this time. When you receive the product, box contains two pieces: (1) the long belt that part that goes along your waist and (2) the buckle. You first cut off a piece of belt (instructions state your typical waist length plus 9 inches, but I only add 5 inches because belt is too long for me (personal preference). Then the picture diagram tells you to put in the belt to buckle and these spikes will hold onto the belt. Super easy to do; takes a minute for first time users to understand; only 5 seconds total for 2nd-time users. ... show more

Buy this belt! I purchased this belt on may 23rd 2019. I wear it every single day with the exception of maybe a couple times a year when I wear my dress belt. So to do the math, 1,402 days have passed since I purchased this belt. That’s roughly 17,000 hours of wear time with me wearing it 12 hours a day. For $20, I would say I got my moneys worth and I have another one ordered and in the way. This belt allows you to cut it to fit to size so you don’t have extra slack in the belt looking all goofy. The ratcheting mechanism works perfectly every single time. With normal loop belts you always have that awkward spot wear one loop is too loose. The next loop is too tight. Then your stuck making your own loop in it to fit right. This eliminates all of that with having so many ratcheting notches for the perfect fitment no matter what bottoms you are wearing. As you can see in my photo, after nearly 4 years of daily use the belt finally gave and has torn. I will continue buying this brand belt from now on and recommend them to everyone. ... show more

This is the second time I've purchased this belt (I've temporarily lost the original one I had and figured it was a good opportunity to get a backup for when I find my first one). Belt feels great - easy to set up, holds on tight, and the unlocking mechanism works well. My only gripe is that it has a terrible smell. It smells moldy/mildew-y and like it's been sitting in a damp environment for years. It makes the area around it smell terrible too. This belt is actually a little better quality than I expected for the price! It comes in a very nice box and includes instructions on just how to custom trim for the correct fit/size you need. The finish on the leather looks the same as a belt that would cost twice or more. It took a little getting used to the release mechanism but it's not a big deal. It works fine but it's just different from a standard buckle. I bought this belt to use at my daughter's upcoming wedding since all of my current belts are a bit weathered and a nice new one is in order for the ceremony. Now I plan on getting a couple more for everyday use and some in different colors and buckle styles for dress and semi-formal occasions. This is more belt than it's cost would indicate! ... show more

I never write reviews but this belt deserves a review. As I get older, lazier, and fatter around the mid section, I often times find a standard belt to not have that perfect fit. Had my last one for 3-4 years, only had to buy a replacement because over time the little latch to loosen the belt broke off after years of daily usage. Would definitely recommend the ease and style of this belt to anyone

The belt arrived faster than I'd anticipated, which is always a good thing. It took me a minute to hook up the adjustable buckle, but it was just fine once I got everything lined up.

    • The small pins that join the main buckle to the strap holder tend to fall out

These are 2 small, yet sharp pins in a dubious stake configuration - there are multiple buyer's complaints to be found here. They are hammered into the die cast strap holder at the factory, but tend to loosen over time and fall out, sometimes leading to an embarrassing situation, (especially if you CCW). If you can't locate the pins on the floor, there's not much recourse unless you're mechanically handy. Solution #1: if you can find both sharp pins (don't look barefoot), clean up the mating parts and apply Locktite Threadlocker to the flukes before hammering the pins back into place. (Check frequently over the next months.) Solution #2: drill and tap the strap holder for 3/32" (#2) machine screws, and Locktite those into place. Solution #3: adapt a 3/32" dia x 2" cotter pin, but this is somewhat inelegant. Otherwise, the product seems to be well made. Hint: Wear nice underwear, LOL. ... show more
