I am an exclusive espresso drinker. So I have used many brands and types of espresso. Light, medium, dark, some even flavored to some degree. Having said that, I will say that Lavazza Top Class is exactly as the company describes it. It is smooth, low acid, and does in fact have flavor. I normally use the standard measure of 18 grams of bean. With this I use 20 grams. This provides enough strength of flavor and richness to satisfy. It is a quality bean and a quality roast. I use it daily as I have 4-5 a day. Its dependable. No offputting flavors. I also use other brands and roasts that I favor. As with any coffee you will find favorites. I personally don't quite understand why some reviewers choose to say this coffee is "awful" or lacks flavor. Simply not true. So you dont like a coffees roast or flavor profile, simply move on to something you find you like. I find this roast to be very good, flavorful, and cheap enough to be used frequently. I enjoy it. If you are looking for daily driver type coffee that is not very expensive, this is worth your time and money to check out. I am an old Italian nonni who is picky about eveything. My only point is that this does provide a satisying espresso shot for me. I cannot speak on how it is in a regular coffee pot. Opinion is mine only. ... show more

Had this coffee in the Nespresso machine while in Mexico on vacation. Came home and it’s not easy to find. Glad to have found the whole bean on Amazon. I grind my own and the flavor is the same. These coffee beans are delicious and a great value. I actually realized that by grinding my own coffee beans, I save a lot of money! Someone stated on youtube that some ground coffee brands have "ground cockroaches" in the can! That's when I decided to grind my own coffee beans. Bought this based on the rating, and ended up rather disappointed. It was prepared in our Gaggia Velasca Prestige. There are definitely milk chocolate notes, however there's distinct tannic notes that we found overpowered all else. Coming from Lavazza, we expected better.
