I finally was able to get a project started on my lathe, I have been using these tools and they do work wonderfully. Easy to change over, sharpness lasts much longer than my old set. So find them a very good value.

Nice little kit with one glaring problem, as shown in the photo. The square roughing tool does not align or center properly, I'm guessing the milling is off by a hair. Might still be usable if you are careful, but having it shift while turning something delicate, like a pen, would destroy the project. And as one of the most-used tools in the set (for me) this drops the overall value quite a bit. It's too bad as the case, aluminum handles, and other 3 tools are actually very nice and easy to use.

This my first set of carbide tools and I find them much easier to use. I wish I would have gotten them sooner. I had a small problem and the manufacturer took care of it immediately. It nice to see that they stand behind their products.

The lathe tools were attractive BUT - the handle didn't fit the tool bar. Interference fit!

Just before selecting this set, I bought a three piece mini carbide turning tool set. I was tired of sharpening my tools before and during use and read a lot of good reviews on carbide tools. For an occasional user like me, these definitely seem the fastest and easiest solution. That said, comparing the two sets has been interesting. I think this set cuts better and cleaner and I particularly like the square circle. Even though it is loose, or maybe because it is loose, it seems to provide a smooth cut with good control, similar to a Spindlemaster/Versa Chisel which is my favorite tool. The other tips are comparable to me. The square shaft does have its benefits. It locks consistently in place with the set screw and lays flat. I guess for angling cuts it is not as easy but this leads me to my biggest disappointment with this set: it only has one handle. It is a decent handle, extendable and comfortable. But switching tips is not convenient so I mostly use the other set for the round, square, and diamond tips and leave the square circle tip on this handle.

I like the convenience of carbide wood turning tools like these. No fussing with a Tormek or other technique to keep a sharp edge on your tools. Maybe not as perfect for ultimate craftsmanship as a finely tuned and sharpened set of classic lathe tools, but awesome just the same for the occasional turner like myself. The case is nice, but I'm not as excited about the idea of interchanging the handle with each end. Many projects require the use of several different shape cutters during the course of doing the work, and stopping to swap the handle is annoying. At the very least they should offer additional handles for sale at a modest cost.
