Note that a 2018 VW Passat will still have CANBUS errors. A 2012 VW owner noted the same thing and flipped the light switch to ON and back to AUTO to clear the message. This also works for the 2018 VWs. Additionally, this CANBUS message only shows on AUTO during the day. At night the lights come on and no message. It's fiddly ... so if I forget to flip the switch, the little yellow headlight warning on my dash is just a reminder that my DRL is on and headlights are off - find the positive! ... show more

I replaced my low beams with the G2 and they work great! Just had to go under the fender liners for the drivers side. One note is the cutoff is not as defined as the stock halogens. That is the only issue but otherwise it shines amazing and does the job.

I bought these in Feb to improve the OEM lights of my 2014 Passat TDI. Wow, what a difference. It is super bright, super white and, at times, overpowering the reflectors of the street signs. But I can see much better at night and that was the purpose. Prior to purchase, I contacted LasFit with a bunch of questions and concerns and they were very fast and responsive answering all of them. I also watched a bunch of the installation videos online and read other customer reviews. That was very helpful. I installed the passenger bulb first to get a feel for it. It was quite easy since it is easier to get to (as a right hander) as compared to the driver side. The LED bulb snapped right in even with the Silicone washer that was factory placed on the bulb (there is another set in the package). For the driver side, due to access restrictions to the bulb, it was a little bit more tricky to get the LED bulb in. I didn’t have a good grip and couldn’t get it fully twisted and snapped in, so I removed the Silicone washer, and it worked. Trying to match up the passenger side by taking the bulb out again and removing the Silicone washer I found that the bulb was sitting too lose then and put the washer back on (it might also serve as dust seal and vibration damper). I gave the driver side another try to put properly in place with the Silicone washer on by twisting my arm for a better grip and it worked! I was also able to place the (flat) rubber dust caps back on the light housing – the bulbs work fine with it since they have a safety cage and side vent slots for the cooling fan (at least the set I received in Feb – LasFit seems to have changed the design slightly it appears). However, cup-like dust caps might work better. So far, they have survived the brutal Arizona summer we had this year and I hope they will last. Note: when I turn my car on I can see 4 flickers of the head lights (light switch in OFF or ON or Auto position) – like an initialize. Takes a little bit to get used to, it’s not a fault according to LasFit. Also, some reviewers mentioned they had to re-adjust the beam height. I did not have to do that and I think, from my experience installing this bulb in my car and based on the bulbs design, if it is not fully twisted and snapped into place then the beam would stray and might need an adjustment. Note2: on European cars, the passenger side high beam is always set a little higher to better illuminate the right hand side of the street to better see pedestrians, animals, road side markers, etc. and the driver side is set a little lower in order not to blind oncoming traffic. ... show more

Bought the low beams and the regular headlights lights and they died within 60 days on my VW GTI. Update: Manufacturer reached out after I reported the defect and left my review and had new lights delivered. Easily popped them in and everything is right as rain! These lights are so bright and look much better than before. Thanks for getting things rectified. Reason for 4 out of 5 is that I still want to measure longevity. ... show more

These lights are amazing . Only reason it is not a 5 star is because one of them is burned up in only 4 months. One is perfectly fine. I am trying to figure out how to get this taken care of currently.

    • 2012 VW Passat will have a canbus error
I like these lights, they look nice, and the fitment is pretty good given the weird bulb clip that comes from the factory. The only thing I hate is when I start my car, I get a check left and right front low beam message on the dash followed by the orange light indicator. If you manually cycle the light switch to the ON position then put it back into AUTO or OFF, the orange light and error codes will go away. If you don't do this, the message will not go away. I messaged Lasfit customer service and asked for a resistor or something to install to prevent this from happening and all they offered me was a free return shipping label... I think this problem could easily be fixed because I also purchased the Lasfit High Beam kit for my car and I don't get any error messages about the high beams. Only the Low beams. I like these lights, and I don't want to return them as I'm not sure I would be able to use any other aftermarket LED bulb with the stock housing, and I don't want to go back to Halogen bulbs. I just wish Lasfit would have stood by their claim stating these would not cause error messages. I'm willing to do whatever is needed to fix this problem, but they are not able to help and told me to return the lights if the canbus message bothers me... Build quality 5 stars Fitment 4 stars Visibility/Brightness 5 stars Price 1 star - I expected to not have any issues with these given the high price tag. Customer Service - 2 stars - They were not helpful and took a long time to respond. Not recommended if the Canbus error bothers you. ... show more
