Unbiased review with no compensation whatsoever. TL;DR: These bulbs are bright, light a wider area, easy to install, a lot more blue than OEM halogens (6000-6500K), and have good cut-off (very rarely get flashed by oncoming traffic). Even without the engine running, you can barely hear the fans. With the engine running, they are completely unnoticeable. Before and after photos are pretty self explanatory. I would buy these again. "Upgrade Program" is a bit sketchy though. 2.5 year update: Almost 45,000 miles, headlights always on, everything is still great as described below. About 1,000 hours of run time. Have the same type just different plug as high beams and they are also very bright and clear. 12+ month update: Still all good. Contacted Hikari about the upgrade program and received the following response, "Is the bulb broken? If it's broken we can give you a warranty. But if it is not broken, there is no big difference between the 2022 Acme-X bulb and the 2021 version." They then offered a 30% discount on new bulbs. If in their own words there isn't much difference, then there is no reason to buy new bulbs. 6-month update: Still all good, did have to adjust driver side housing down a little after getting a few flashes, somehow it was higher than before. Maybe repair from deer strike has settled in?? (Initially installed the week I got my car back.) Maybe just using them more since it's dark sooner?? Either way still very happy, rarely have to use high beams with these. Being deer season, I can see them further off the road now, so less surprises. The extraneous details: After hitting yet another deer on a dark country road and generating $6700 in revenue for the body shop, it was time to look for brighter headlights than the OEM halogens on my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. I looked at many brands and websites for what I thought were unbiased reviews only to find that one of the main reviewers of bulbs online (Headlight Revolution) is owned by the same company as some of the bulbs they review (which unsurprisingly came out on top at a cost of over $200). The 2021 Acme-X H11’s were also rated highly on a number of sites at less than half the GTR 2.0 price (especially with the $10 coupon). Bulbfacts dot com has some pretty good info too. Install was pretty easy. I had to move a few things to get to the bulbs, but would have been the same replacing with OEM halogens. They were plug and play with no error codes. My low beams are not my DRL’s, these may not work for that function. The ring that locks into your OEM reflector housing comes off the bulb allowing you to rotate the bulb to get the orientation correct (LED diodes at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions) to allow for good cut-off with no glare. I am a little skeptical that the friction connection holding the bulb in place remains tight, time will tell. I have definitely noticed that they light up a much wider brighter area. You notice more reflective tapes on mailboxes and even parked vehicles pretty far off the road in people’s driveways, etc. For me this is great in allowing me to see deer and other types of God’s creatures sooner as they try (sometimes unsuccessfully) to cross the road. If anything changes, I will update my review. BTW, Why did the chicken cross the road? To show the deer it could be done. ... show more

First off the bat I have projector headlights. I needed or wanted something a little better than the halogens. I tried buying a low cost LED lights from ebay, no good. They were horrible. Then bought a pair that "claimed" to be 10k lms. After a little research the companies actual website state they are only 8k. So decided to spend a little more and try these. Install was easy obviously. I couldn't wait to drive and try these at night. Used a excuse just so I had to drive at night and try these. Was not disappointed. Now will be looking to replace my high beams. ... show more

Hello I purchased 2 sets of your HyperStar headlights, 1 pair in H11 and 1 pair in 9005. I have a problem with them. They are said to have built in canbus but they are still hyperflashing. When my car is in drive the DRL lights turn on, it uses my high beams at a low wattage to drive during the day and so when they are on they are flashing very fast. Also. After checking your website it seems that the ad you have on Amazon is in accurate, the ad said that the Hyperstars are made in 2022 and on your site they are made in 2021. The box I received is a light blue color not the dark blue color like the 2022 lights you have on here. So that also makes me wonder, the lights I bought do they have a canbus built in? I first tried "AUXITO H11/H8/H9 LED Bulbs" on my 2017 Honda Civic and it was an excellent improvement over the factory Halogens. However, I wanted something brighter, so I tried "Alla Lighting S-HCR H8 H9 H11 LED Bulbs, Headlights/Fog Lights/DRL, 6500K Xenon White 100..." which had slightly better light output at a higher price. After reading other reviews, I ended up with these "Hikari 2022 HyperStar H11/H8/H9 20000LM". If you don't mind spending the extra, then these are worth it for the light color, output, and especially side coverage. If cost is a consideration, then you cannot go wrong with either of these. ... show more
