Genuinely pleased with the LP5, and will likely be getting the upgrades for it soon. There is nothing I've not been able to do with the right settings and the right number of passes. Coins with actual depth, coasters, garden rocks, dog tags, metal business cards. The only thing I've yet to try is glass, but I'll get to it eventually. My favorite is working with leather and making custom wallets. There are now officially three people out there with my name/logo in their wallet, and that gives me a good laugh. Having a 20W diode AND fiber laser in one portable package is pretty sweet. This has traveled with me to different work sites and comes in and out of the garage for different projects. The fans are kinda loud, so it mostly stays in the garage....But I like that it comes with the vent tube. Will be making a permanent space in my workroom for this in the near future. Pros - Portability - Relatively small, has a handle. Works on battery (external) power or plugged in. Can literally go outside and engrave a company logo on their front door....doesn't matter the material. Coins - This is the coolest thing, doing actual deep engraving on coins. The process to make a picture suitable is kind of tedious, but the results are great. I've only done one of my face so far, but it turned out really nice....took about five and a half hours. Materials - Can pretty much etch/engrave anything I've thrown at it. Leather looks beautiful, so wallets and keychains are super fast and easy. Wood really really depends on the type and if there are knots. If you have decent quality wood pieces it should be fine. Quickness - Depending on what you're doing, a single pass could take as little as 20 to 30 seconds and you get great results. For bigger projects, or cutting, expect longer. Depth, number of passes, and intensity all play a part in the speed. Like I said, sometimes coins can take about six hours. Accuracy - Everything seems to engrave pretty well. If you start with a high quality image, you get a high quality "print." Only a few times has something not come out looking as expected, and it just took some tweaking the settings to get it right. Software - ABSOLUTELY use the Design Space software. It's simple and intuitive if you've ever used an engraver before. Allows you to make layers so you can engrave and cut in one go without having to mess around too much. The phone app for Android is pretty good, but for some reason none of the materials show up anymore....so you have to make your own settings. Shield - The shield does the job, and it is easy to remove...Magnets. Like...I just like this setup. Cons - Noise - This is louder than we keep our TV. The engraving isn't super loud, but the fans are just LOUD. Definitely keep it in the garage or in a workspace away from the family room. Dirty - Obviously this can get a little messy. With burnt material or metal bits, there is some clean up to do after each project. Just be aware you will probably want an external fan with some power behind it to blow on those longer projects to blow away the debris. Cable Length - Really could have used some longer cables all around. Even the USB cable to connect to the PC should have been at least six feet. The power cable is definitely not long enough for my usual setup. Cutting - The farther from the center your object is, the sharper the bevel will be when cutting. Don't expect to make cut-outs that go together. Puzzles and such, not so much. I have no regrets...Well...Maybe one: I wish I had gotten the full set when I bought the LP5. Now I really want the enclosure, rotary, and all the other goodies. I wish they were backwards compatible with the LP4 models, but it is what it is. So who is this for? This is for someone serious about making things for money. With the right gimmick, you can probably make your money back within a few months. Can it do as much as a larger table engraver can? Yes, but smaller, and one or two items at a time. This is for someone on the verge of turning a hobby into a business, or someone with an established business with other engravers that need something portable to take to trade shows or to house calls. I am the exact audience for this, I think. I like the compact size and the capabilities. I like being able to put this in a case in my trunk and take it with me. I love the accuracy, ease of use, and the tons of different things I can engrave on. It's just pretty awesome.

I purchased the Laserpecker LP5 because I wanted to expand my laser capabilities beyond what my other hobby level lasers can do. I was comparing several different fiber lasers but chose this one because it has the combined fiber and diode laser, a rotary device, expansion bed, and air filtration system (not included but within the LaserPecker ecosystem). The LP5 arrived very quickly and packaged nicely to ensure safe transport. A nice protective box inside of a large protective box. I have been using the LP5 for the last few months and I've really been enjoying learning how to use it and dialing it in perfectly. Upon unboxing it I was immediately pleased with the design and craftsmanship. Although I had watched a few review videos online prior to purchase, I couldn't tell if the unit was made of metal or simply plastic that looked metal. I was pleased that it is made of aluminum and overall *feels* nice, no creaking or skimping with cheap parts. The cables are are not basic rubber cables but nicely wound black braided cables. The entire unit feels solid and sturdy. It looks good as an addition on the workbench rather than a tool that you'd want to tuck back away in a cabinet immediately after use. Aesthetics aside...the LP5 proved to be much more capable than my other lasers. My other lasers can't etch/mark metal without coating the object first. The LP5 laser can easily mark and etch deeply into metal and stone with no pre-treatment. And when I need the capability of a diode laser, I still have a powerful 20w diode inside this one. I was even able to cut through thin metals with the LP5 for another project. When using the LP5 I really appreciate the blue laser project outline feature which eliminates guessing where the lasers going to start. For me, this is a major game changer. Typically I have to ensure to have a couple practice pieces of whatever I was going to laser so I could fine tune and home the laser position. This project outline feature can display the outline of the text or image precisely where it is going to laser. No guesswork involved. No small variations between batch jobs. The LP5 is also much faster than my other lasers, in some cases, literally about 500x faster. It came with a nice small package of materials and items to get you started if you have never lasered before. Some pieces of wood and leathers, slate coaster test piece, keychains, nametags, etc. These are nice to practice on or to dial in your settings but not something I'd actually give away as a gift.. It also comes with safety glasses, L-shaped jig holders, a safety backplate, and exhaust hose. The exhaust hose can connect to the air filter station that Laserpecker also has within their product lineup. Or you can do it like I did and just exhaust it outside. I have used it for dozens of hours on numerous projects. Neither power nor detail has diminished, it still is working wonderfully as it did on day one and continues to impress me with its capabilities. It took me a long time to learn that you don't have to unplug it to turn it off, you can press the 'lines' button on top for 3-5 seconds and it will shut off. Press the 'lines' button again for a few seconds to turn it back on. I definitely recommend this to others! It is a great laser for speeding up laser projects or increasing your lasering capabilities!

Once again I have the opportunity to be the one who gets to bring you an opinion about one of LaserPecker's products. There are a number of models at the office where I work to play with, all of which have been incredibly useful over the recent years. So it was no surprise that we wanted one of these as well! I have been getting a solid feel for the product for about a week now, using both the mobile app and desktop application (But, so far, mostly the mobile app more than anything else since I'm such a fan of it). Although this uses a more advanced mobile app than some of the other models I have used (which used their basic app), so it took a little extra layer of learning, but I was up and running in no time. Since then, a number of my colleagues have been playing with it, and the results have all been the same. It has been a fantastic experience, resulting in many projects we never knew we needed. Really, I was just finding anything and everything to use the LP5 against just for fun and to get some ideas of what I really could be using it for later on. I have mostly been using it to apply QR codes to random things, but I also took the time to use some of the test prints since the company provides a decent number of sample materials to practice with. This includes two brass coins, one of which, I engraved the wolf test pattern on (comes on a thumb drive that's included). I think the settings of the test file might have been a little high so it required some polishing, but the result was great. The company has a community section on its website that is filled with projects that others have done. I saw one of an Irish lucky coin that looked fun to work on, so I might use that for the other coin. When it comes to assembling the unit, it doesn't take much time at all. Just a couple minutes and it was pieced together and ready to work. Although it might seem a little pricey, it does compete well with any of the bed-style machines that have the same power laser. They too fall around the same price range or sometimes higher, but this one has a much smaller footprint. This is much easier to drag around and can be used at angles, and other situations, including the optional accessories (of which, I haven't tested or purchased any yet). It's always fun coming across a new toy like this because you end up spending so much time playing with it before using it for any functional purposes. I believe I've gotten past that stage now, and have been planning future projects for various things around the office, and plan to let others make use of it or take it home for similar needs. All in all, this has been a great investment. A great option for both hobbiests and professionals.

I am a long time Lase Pecker user and have brought all models . and own 4 currently. Fabulous product when they work out the initial bugs on initial release. But my latest purchase of the LP5 is disappointing in that it will not communicate / connect by blue tooth and from experience its going to take a hundred Emails before they send a replacement They will try to teach me how to connect a item by Bluetooth . but when up and running they are fabulous

I'm not new to laser engraving. When LaserPecker released its first version, I started with a small 5W compact engraver. It worked well for engraving small objects. Fast-forward four years, I've had several laser engravers and cutters in various power and bed sizes. One of the issues with laser diodes always comes down to speed. While my large 36" x 35" laser cutter is phenomenal at cutting large sheets, if I'm engraving small coasters or only a few items, the gantry-style laser becomes more time-consuming to get the correct position, having to use a scrap piece to locate the actual engraving location. It's almost impossible without doing a test run and marking where the engraving will go. With Galvo "markers" like this unit, it can place the preview of the outline, so there's no guessing game. With the LaserPecker, it outputs the shape outline in a rectangular (or square) format, which is not an issue as you'll know exactly what the widest and tallest part of the shape will be. The setup took less than 30 minutes. It was packaged very well, has an excellent manual to reference to, and I was up and running in no time. This head also has an adjustable Z-axis, which I've never seen, but they can be tilted for angled objects. I have a regular fiber laser, but such functionality does not exist. The software can be run from the app or, in my case, through the USB cable directly to my mini PC. I have the exhaust running to my main venting for any smoke while engraving. If you've used Lightburn before, the software is self-explanatory. It's a simplified version but has plenty of features. It can outline and cut or fill an image, adjust different parameters, and engrave or even cut. The dual fiber/diode function is a simple software switch button. The fiber is 1064nm and only for metal. While it can somewhat do certain non-organic materials, the selections are limited, so the diode laser is handy. 20W is more than enough for most metal engraving. A metal business card takes only seconds to engrave! That's how fast these Galvo lasers are. Engraving coasters, whether cork, wood, or the included slate, is also fast, depending on how deep or dark the material is. I can pump out small designs in less than 30 seconds. The setup is super easy once you have the jig setup (included with the package). I've not had issues with the software (make sure you update it first for the latest firmware) or the machine itself. I can go on with so many other features, but overall, if you want to engrave and cut organic materials, including leather, wood, etc., but still have the option to engrave metal, this is it. In fact, the fiber can also remove rust and other contaminants! I've not bought the attachments, but I likely will down the road.

I bought the LaserPecker LP5 mainly for cutting, not engraving and wow, it actually does it. I’ve cleanly cut 1mm brass and stainless steel using: • Brass: Power 100 / Depth 94 / 8 passes • Stainless Steel: Power 100 / Depth 96 / 13 passes • Frequency: Auto (26) • Mode: Metal Cut / Fiber Laser No cutting fluid, no clamping, and it still handled it beautifully. Delivery & Packaging: Amazon crushed it . It was delivered the next day! Everything came perfectly packaged with all the parts I needed to set up right away. Why I chose it: I originally wanted a CO₂ laser for cutting clear and mirror acrylic, but I needed a metal cutter more. So I went with the LP5, and I have zero regrets. It’s compact, tough, and actually does what it claims. App & Setup Tips: • It only connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (not 5G), so keep that in mind. • Always center your image before cutting or engraving , saves a lot of frustration. • The app doesn’t show estimated completion time like my Glowforge Spark does, which took some getting used to. • If you swipe away from the app while it’s running, it might say “disconnected,” but don’t panic , the machine keeps working. • I usually leave the app open on my phone while it runs. I’ll try a computer next to see if that helps. Overall: It’s not the most user-friendly app, but it’s workable. The results make up for any minor software quirks. If you’re a maker who loves to experiment and especially if you want to cut metal at home without a giant industrial machine ,this little beast is worth it.
