This is the 4th laser engraver I've owned. I think this style is a decent idea as a second laser, or if you're really sure you only want to do small objects like coasters, leather badges and keychains. The unique ability that I was interested in was the ability to hold the laser onto existing surfaces like mailboxes, doors, walls, and panels of powder coated devices. This makes it really useful for marking information (IDs, logos, warnings, etc) on equipment, etc. The software is decent, especially the PC version. The phone app is usable but harder to use than the computer one. Note that some things need to be rasterized or converted in order to get a visual "trace" preview of what is going to be engraved. The fan on the back of the translucent pyramid shield does a pretty decent job at fume extraction. I like the dual red laser point method of focusing the beam, vs a touch style. For the high price for only a "10W" diode laser, you get something that is built and presented like an apple product, but has less capability than an XY gantry style laser with maybe 3x the power.

The LP2 is an awesome choice if you’re new to laser engraving. It is an older model, so it less expensive than newer versions, but still gives excellent LaserPecker results. It’s the perfect size to travel but is still durable enough to remain stationary. It uses an app to connect you to the Laser Pecker design space. It is easy to use providing you follow the instructions and become aware of the various settings for different surfaces. Metals, woods, and leathers all have different settings and depending on the look you want to achieve… you may need to play around with different settings. I know my first try was perfect from the stock designs. But when I loaded my own artwork I had to tweak the settings. I love all the LaserPecker products! Again, I’m recommending this for new hobbyists looking to get into laser engraving. For more experienced crafters, I’d recommend the latest model and there is a comparison chart available to look at the differences between models (speed, materials, etc).

I’ve been wanting a laser engraver for some time and finally picked up the LaserPecker LP2 Plus 10W. So far, I’m really impressed with how well it works for my projects. The build quality feels solid and premium, and setup was pretty straightforward. There is definitely a learning curve, especially with focusing and finding the right settings for different materials, but that’s part of the fun. I haven’t yet added accessories, which I plan to do to expand its capabilities. Overall, this is a great choice if you’re new to laser engraving and want a reliable, versatile machine that can handle a variety of materials. Not too heavy as well.

I was so excited the day it arrived. The packaging was excellent. Each piece was wrapped and in a well designed foam cutout arrangement minimizing jarring during shipping. Once assembled it’s smaller than I imagined but it does at 4”x4” work area. The upgraded laser 10w (instead of 5w) really increases the functionality. It is able to cut thru 6mm thick material (non metal). The variety of materials the item can work with and the free software is a great value for the money. Durability seems to be good from other reviews on YouTube and Reddit. Time will tell! I am just getting started with it but will post updates once I etch a few nicer pieces.

The media could not be loaded. So I have been trying to get this up and running. It comes with no instructions on putting it together or the program that runs the laser which is why I gave it 4 starts. It was fairly simple to put together, however, I have had to join several Facebook pages in order to get some guidance on running the program to make items. Once I figure out the program and am able to make some items I will update this review. I did also check the out the manufactures website and I cannot seem to find program instructions.
