I have to admit I've never tried anything like this. I thought it looked like a nice product to help with my facial hair, so I decided to try it. It arrived well packed in a nice box - perfect for gifting. The unit, itself, is very attractive. The white and rose gold is pretty. I tried reading the instructions that came with it. To my dismay, the instructions left me with more questions than answers. So, I tried it out using some of the directions and a lot of common sense. I like that it has a handle - fairly easy to hold when using. The quality of the item is what one would expect for the price. A good machine, but far from the very best. It discourages me that it can take weeks/months to see any results. I'm more of an instant gratification kind of person. I don't like the discipline of doing something on a regular basis when I don't know if it's working for me or not. But, that's exactly what I'll be doing with this. All that aside, I am going to give it the best effort to make it work. I'm using it for the facial hair that old age has given me. I have a mustache area that I have to keep shaved. I've also gotten some peach fuzz on my lower cheeks. So, I'm hopeful this will work. So far it's done no harm, so that's a good thing.     • Intense Pulse Light Hair Remover
I like this IPL hair remover for several reasons. You shave before using it each time, so theres no having to grow hair before treatment and no one will know you are using a hair remover. It’s really easy to use once you get the hang of the settings and from there it's just plug in and go, the cord length is really good too. I like how this one is shaped, it has a handle which makes the snout shorter and is a lot easier to maneuver especially if you are using it for face or under arms. The higher the number you use, the hotter the flash will be and the faster your results will be but it can also become uncomfortable or burn so take it slow and work your way up to the higher settings. This 100% will slow and eventually stop hair growth but you have to use it consistently and for a good length of time so don't give up two weeks in, be patient. Hair will start growing slower and slower and will also become finer and less visible as time goes on. The flash zone on these devices is very small, and although you absolutely can use it for legs, I use this mainly for my face. Also make sure you check the chart to see if this kind of device is for you, it does not work for light blonde, red or grey hair, the hair needs to be dark to provide a contrast at the root area under the skin for the flash to work there. It also will not work if you have a darker skin tone. This is a great basic hair removal device , I like this one more than the others I own due to this one having a handle and the $80 price tag is on par too. The only thing I would like to see in this one would be a cooling/ice bar but for what you get, its a great value and an awesome hair remover. Would absolutely recommend this one A+ ... show more

    • Works if you are patient, requires time commitment, fairly easy to use
I have tried several of these devices and one thing that they all have in common is that you absolutely MUST be patient and committed if you expect to see any real results. You cannot just glide this thing over your skin for a day or two and be silky smooth. It can take weeks, even months, before you start to see and feel noticeable results. With that being said... Be sure to check out a hair color/skin tone chart BEFORE ordering as this product isn't suitable for everyone. For many people that see no results, they may have a skin tone or hair color that doesn't mesh well with the device. You are also more likely to experience burns. For example, it normally won't work for those with ultra light blonde, white, or red hair or those with very dark skin tones. The device is about the size of a compact hair dryer. It's comfortable to hold but does have some heft to it. It didn't cause any hand stiffness or discomfort during use. I strongly recommend reading the entire manual before beginning. You will have to use the laser for several weeks before seeing any major results. It isn't a one time thing. If you think you are going to use this one time and be hair free, you will be quite disappointed. Also, BE SURE TO WEAR THE PROTECTIVE GLASSES!!! They are included so you really don't have a reason not to. The flashes definitely aren't good for your eyes so be sure that no children or pets are nearby while you are using the device. There are 9 different intensity settings. Unlike other devices that I have tried, this one doesn't incorporate any "ice cooling" technology. If you are a beginner, I would strongly suggest starting low and working your way up. The highest setting wasn't painful but it wasn't necessarily comfortable either. You do have to shave first for the process to work properly. (a razor is included!) I have been using this for around 3 weeks and I am starting to see results. The hair is still there, of course, but it seems to be growing in slower and less coarse. I am hoping with extended use (several months), the hair will eventually stop growing altogether. (or, at the very least, prolong the amount of time that I can go in between shaves) ... show more
