I’ve had professional laser hair removal in the past, but am currently putting a kid through college so it’s out of my budget. I ordered this IPL Hair Removal Device with Ice Cooling to give a try. Of course the first thing I looked at is the instructions. They are decent, with just a few minor grammatical errors, but not super great. There are a lot of instructions, almost too much, but the info about actual operation isn’t as clear or informative as I’d like. There is a chart on the back of the box showing the range of skin and hair colors that are appropriate for the device. I have really light skin and dark hair, so I’m a perfect candidate for IPL hair removal. It still recommends doing a test first before doing a full treatment and then starting at the lower level and working up each treatment. When I used the first setting I could feel a little bit of zapping feeling, not painful at all and of course the cooling was nice and cold. Once I started at the higher levels the cooling was absolutely necessary because the device itself got really hot by the end of the area – which was just one forearm, so not a big area. I love that the device came with everything needed, including protective glasses and a razor. I also really like the auto flash setting, it makes it really easy to just set and go. Initially I liked that it had a really high number of flashes, but after using it for a while I don’t like the countdown feature. It is anxiety producing. Did I just waste that flash? How many flashes do I have left and will it be enough to see the results I want? I guess I’d prefer maybe a light that is green and then maybe yellow when you are getting low on flashes and then red when you are out of flashes, or something similar. The count down is just ominous to me, even though I think the purpose is to show that there are a lot of flashes and a long life for the device. It has the opposite effect for me. It’s still too soon to know if I will have results. It needs to be used a few times a week initially to be effective and I’ve had a crazy schedule and have not been as consistent as I should be, so my results will take longer. Overall, for the price this IPL Hair Removal Device is excellent and a great value, especially with the current discount. It is not even comparable to the prices of professional laser hair removal. It has some great features like the Ice Cooling and the autoflash, but the device gets hot even on a relatively small area, so I am giving it 4 stars. ... show more

This device is easy enough to use at home, and I like that it comes with the accessories needed to get started, even glasses are included to protect your eyes. The size is manageable, but a little large for those with small hands, the weight feels comfortable in hand. It would be nice if it was rechargeable and wireless but the fact you need to have it plugged in to use means you do not have to worry about battery dying in the middle of a session. The quality felt decent for the price, at around $40 it’s a pretty good value. I’ve used older but similar products years ago for at least 5 times the price. The different modes give it some versatility for different areas, and the cooling feature makes the process feel more comfortable than I expected. The instructions are long but important with this kind of item, and they were clear enough to understand the general setup and safety steps. This is not an instant-results product, so keep that in mind. You need to keep using it to slow and then eventually stop hair growth. Durability seems fine so far, and the value is good if you want an at-home option and are willing to be consistent.     • A Surprisingly Effective Choice for Home Treatment
My wife was very nervous to try this hair removal device because the idea of using a laser at home sounded a bit intimidating to her. She worried it might hurt or be difficult to operate. After she used it a few times, she says it works well and she is happy with the results. The cooling function is a nice feature because it keeps the skin comfortable during the process. We appreciate that it has five intensity levels because it allows her to start low and increase the power as she gets more confident. The two different flash modes are also very helpful for covering larger areas like legs while still being precise on smaller spots like the bikini line. The device comes with goggles which is a relief because I do not want to worry about any safety issues. The handle fits comfortably in the hand and the unit feels sturdy rather than cheap. My wife think that having nearly a million flashes means this will last for a long time without needing a replacement. It is certainly much cheaper than going to a salon for professional sessions. While it takes some time to get through the entire body, the convenience of doing it at home while watching a television show is a major benefit. I have been using this device for a couple of months, and while I have not seen complete hair removal, the hair does seem to be growing back a little less dense. It does need to stay plugged in while you use it, which isn’t a big deal and probably helps it deliver enough power, but worth knowing that it is not cordless. I would consider this more of a gradual hair reduction device than a permanent removal option, but it still feels like a step in the right direction. ... show more

This has been easy to use, though it is corded so you’re limited to being near an outlet the whole time. It’s lightweight with multiple power level options that are simple to adjust. With about a million flashes available it should last a long time and feels like good value for the money. I’ve already noticed some lessening in hair regrowth after just a few sessions. It’s comfortable to hold as long as you keep the cord lined up properly, and I haven’t had any skin irritation at all.     • No pain and easy to use
I really hated the fact that my legs would still have a strawberry appearance after shaving so I started looking at hair removal options. It is very easy to use, be sure to wear the glasses . The instructions made sense, it is painless , it seems like it is working but I have only used this laser hair removal three different times I'm not sure how it's going to work with me just yet. I've also tried it on my underarms and bikini area and it seems makes the hair grow slower so far. ... show more
