SUMMARY: not every one can use it, you may need a helper for difficult areas, you will need commitment and determination. DETAILS: This device operates similar to a laser hair removal, albeit in the home setting. Since my wife just started using the device, I can't attest to the final results yet, as it takes about 8 weeks of use to see the effects. You would have to stick to the application several times a week religiously. This is not for all skin or hair types. For example, the use on a darker skin or in those with blonde, red, and white hair is contraindicated. There are also warnings against using this device in those with freckles, tattoos, and pregnant women. There is a whole hefty book of instructions, and you have to take quite a bit of time initially studying all the do's and don'ts and getting familiar with the use of the machine. My wife tells me that the process itself is a bit cumbersome, hard to aim precisely at the spots you are trying to get because of the narrow window that the light comes through. In addition, it is hard to see where exactly you are aiming with the dark glasses that you are required to wear while operating the device. It may be better if you had someone to help you use the machine so that person could guide the movements of the device precisely. The device does come with a cheap razor and a pair of sunglasses.Only used the lowest setting and definitely feel the heat on skin with each flare, although no pain. There are 9 levels of power, and the higher the level, the better the results are supposed to be. However, you also have to choose the setting based on your skin type and it is recommended by the manufacturer to start at the lower setting and move up in intensity as tolerated. You also need to watch for skin sensitivities and side effects, so it is best to try it out on a small area of skin initially. This review is for the "Aopvui Laser Hair Removal Device". The presentation of this hair remover is nice, very gift-like when unboxing. The plug has an oddly short cable to the power brick and the cable isn't very long so you may need to adjust where this is used. The instruction manual is pretty thick but it's in 5 languages so not as much pertains to the English directions. These are confusing to follow, nothing explains which piece should be used to target, how slow to go or how long to spend on each area. Page 9 number 4 says check for irritation after 30 minutes but page 11 number 7 says to flash 2-3 times for each area. The flashes are quick (and REALLY bright, wear the sunglasses) so to do this for 30 minutes would either be a ton of area or a really irritated smaller area. When it flashed, there was a bit of heat but nothing terrible. There was a QR code that I scanned to bring up an instruction video but it went to a 404 page. I'm going to keep trying different things and see if there is a similar model that may have better instructions that can be used for this but as of right now, it's 3 stars for what seems like a decent quality piece of equipment and nice packaging. Also this can't be used for all skin and hair types so some people with darker skin or lighter or red hair won't be able to get any results. If I can get more/better results, I'll put an update. First off, I want to clarify that the commitment required for these types of devices is something that's universal across all brands and models of IPL. So, I won't be discussing that aspect here. When I received the package, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and expensive it looked. It was definitely giftable, if that's something you're looking for. The quality of the device itself is good, and the manual is extensive and comes in multiple languages. I have seen some people complaining about the instructions, but honestly, I found the depilation instructions to be super clear. However, I do wish the instructions for the other two features of the machine (acne removal and skin rejuvenation) were more readily available. I would love to give those features a try as well. Now, about the 999900 flashes. At first, I wasn't sure if they would be enough, but after doing three full-body sessions, I've used just over a thousand flashes. So, I think they should be sufficient for most users. Lastly, the cooling feature. I have used it, and while it works just fine, I haven't found it to be entirely necessary. I haven't experienced any pain during my sessions, whether I used the cooling feature or not. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it and look forward to seeing the results after more usage. ... show more

No matter how I change the settings it always seems to be exactly the same way maybe mines is defective I’m not sure and I’ve been smelling a kind of burning rubber smell when it’s on but not in use could be faulty wiring
