  • 20 Black Rose NEOCARIDINA SHRIMPS

Description

Black Rose Neocaridina Shrimp are popular among the shrimp hobby and are great for beginners! 10 shrimps per gallon is usually the recommended rule. Neocaridina Shrimp are hardy, non-aggressive and spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm off plants, glass, and substrate, making them an awesome clean up crew for your tank. Simply dechlorinate clean tap water or RO water, cycle your tank with some plants and your new shrimp colony has the opportunity to thrive. Please do keep in mind to avoid using tap water that is heavy in metals or chemicals that are not healthy for your shrimp. Please make sure that all foods or aquarium fertilizers are shrimp-safe when dosing your tanks. Proper Tank Parameters for a successful Neocaridina colony: Temperature: 65-80F pH 6.5-8 TDS 170-250 ppm GH 5.5-8 Quality Shrimp Breeding: We will provide you with a healthy ratio of females to male shrimp so you can have your own colony that can take off! Try to keep different colors of neocaridina separate to maintain offspring color and purity. Inbreeding different species types can result in a duller “brown” colored offspring. Each of our shrimp are high grade shrimps with genetic lineages tracing from award winning breeders in Taiwan. Shrimp Food: There are many shrimp foods out on the market. They do well with dry foods such as fish flakes(without metals) or fresh vegetables such as boiled spinach. Please boil any fresh vegetables and let air-cool before placing in tank for sterilization purposes. Decorate your tank: Neocaridina shrimp LOVE grazing on different types of plants such as java moss, taiwan moss, fissidens, bucephalandra, java fern. Baby shrimps also like grazing on floating plants such as dwarf water lettuce, Salvinia minima, and Frogbit.

  • GREAT SHRIMP
Color: Mix Size: 20
these shrimp travelled from California to Pennsylvania in snowy weather, no heat pack but they were in insulated envelopes and packaged very well. All 20 shrimp are alive, healthy, and colorful! I've tried several closer to home sellers and never had a perfect order! I will buy from these folks again! Thanks! ... show more

  • This is an amazing deal
Color: Mix Size: 20
I've had multiple aquariums for years, and have wanted to try adding shrimp, but I was always concerned about the cost. The aquarium stores near me sell the shrimp for between $5 and $6 each. The ones I ordered from this vendor ended up costing me about $1.50 per shrimp! They were also a little larger than what I've seen or sale in the shops, which surprised me since I'd read some reviews that said the were smaller than expected. There were 3 dead ones in the bags, but they sent more than 20 shrimp to cover losses. The remaining ones were all very healthy and are quite active. They are beautiful, and really fun to watch. I put them in a 20 gallon tank with 4 guppies, along with a bunch of cover since I was concerned the guppies may go after them, but the shrimp are large enough that the guppies don't see them as food, and so far both sides have been totally amicable. They swim right next to each other with no apparent aggression. Initially I had some concern because when I ordered the shrimp it said the next day the package had shipped via FedEx 2 day mail, yet they didn't actually arrive for a week. Not sure what happened there. The packaging was much bigger than I had suspected for these relatively small critters. They were double bagged, plus had netting to hang onto inside the bags. I was really impressed. I once ordered a betta fish online and it came in a tiny little bag that it seemed a miracle it had survived. It was awful. Clearly this vendor cares. The shrimp were a variety of colors, and the colors are amazing. Very vibrant. The vendor did mention that if you want the baby shrimp to display these vibrant colors that you should separate the shrimp by color. I'm not doing that so it will be interesting to see how the babies turn out. The vendor mentioned they will often end up brown in color. Amazing deal. I would highly recommend the vendor, especially for people like me that are trying shrimp out for the first time. ... show more

  • 100% Satisfied!
Color: Mix Size: 20
100% satisfied! Thank you! Received 25 shrimp, no dead shrimp are all! Great colors and a few also had berries. I did not receive a free plant. Not bothered, just don't expect one, and you'll still be happy like me!

  • Bright variety of colors, none DOA!
Color: Mix Size: 20
The media could not be loaded. I’m impressed! I got 20+ shrimp, none of them arrived dead, and a couple are even carrying eggs. All look healthy, active, and colorful. Great value and super fun to watch! They were packaged very well and had no damage inside. Colors I saw in my mix include blue, red, green, yellow, orange, & wild. Definitely will order here again if I get more shrimp the future! **Edited to add & adjust rating: After I got them settled into their tank, I discovered they had scutariella japonica and vorticella as well as some kind of possible bacterial disease in a few. I was able to fix the scutariella japonica+vorticella issue with hydrogen peroxide pretty easily. I've had maybe 3-4 shrimp die off since they've been in the tank (those are the ones I suspected had some bacterial issue). That being said, the shrimp that were carrying eggs have now released shrimplets in the tank, and they all appear to be doing well. So, all in all, still not too bad. I added this to say if you're adding to an existing colony, I suggest quarantining or doing a salt dip / hydrogen peroxide treatment on them before mixing in. ... show more

  • Beautiful Shrimp, Beautiful Value!!
Color: Mix Size: 20
I did not have high hopes of these shrimp when I saw the listing but the unit price with shipping was worth the risk to me even if 1/2 survived and they were brown. I waited at the door for the delivery and I was very surprised when they arrived very well packaged and double bagged and ALL very alive and active! I set the bag on my counter to count them (ha) and the colors popped right away even under just kitchen lights. I eagerly opened the bag and started to drip acclimate them for a 1/2 hour. After putting them in my 20GL community tank they ALL quickly dispersed in to the rocks and plants, there were no floaters or lethargy. I did a 20% water change to complete the acclimation process. They stayed hidden for about 2 days and I started seeing more and more of them. Now I can easily count the majority of them out and about doing their happy shrimpy business. They are just as vibrant in person as the pictures show and even better in person under aquarium lights. They are a favorite of my family and visitors even over the crazy guppies that they share the tank with. They are very lively and you can see them crawling and open water swimming all over the place eating all sorts of algae and detritus. They are so healthy in fact that I recently noticed after only 15 days in the tank, one is holding eggs!! The quality of these shrimp is amazing and I plan to purchase many more for my future tank plans. I will probably include some of these in every tank going forward even as a cleanup crew, the value is that good. After about 1 weeks I ended up with 2 fatalities to fish, I believe this was due to the shrimp's size. There were 2-3 that were quite small. I don't know if enough to know if they were juvenile or just small but this issue is not the vendors fault, just always be aware that any fish can decide to have a shrimp snack, just an inherent risk of running a community tank. Overall these are an easy 5 stars, repeat buy, and far exceeded my expectations! ... show more
