I had seen the other 5-star reviews and purchased this yarn spinner. The first one I received ground and skipped it's gears almost every hand crank when I attempted to cake up a skein of Lion Brand Think and Quick yarn. It was tough to turn the handle, and it just wasn't what I wanted. I returned it and got a replacement. And the same thing happened. I don't know if it's just the yarn I used. That being said, it was listed as a large capacity yarn spinner, and I took that to mean it would be able to handle chunky yarn.
