Skeptical at first, I became a believer. We have a 10x10 umbrella that sways a lot in the lightest breeze. This doodad is simple to attach and works as expected. It's held up fine to 10-15 MPH winds. Just because of the size of the umbrella, I wouldn't keep it up on purpose during high winds. But it gives some assurance that those unexpected rainstorms that arise here in Florida shouldn't destroy the umbrella. You could probably use some rope just as easily, but this flavor at least gives you the ability to adjust the tension.

good quality..can't beat the price..going to look great around my pool this summer.The 2 tier design should do well in the wind this summer...Hopefully they won't end up at the neighbors house.

This umbrella is fantastic. It is quite large, not comically so but it easily covers my 6'1 250lb self from rain, or both of my teenage sons. It folds up to be VERY compact, which might be why I was so taken aback by it's unfurled size. If I had one criticism, it would be that it takes the strength of a gorilla to get the handle to latch into place when collapsing it down after use.. but that's more of a testament to how durable this umbrella is. It is super easy to open it up when needed, and not too difficult to get back in it's protective sleeve once it has dried out. It's hard to get excited about something like an umbrella, but as a dude who is used to just walking through the rain to get to the car? Yeah, I'm probably a bit more excited than I should be! 10/10 would order again.

I bought this as a gift for my father who frequents the beach and park often. The feedback he gave me was that it's the perfect size and provides adequate coverage without having to lug around a larger umbrella!

This is a very good umbrella. The quality is very good, and sturdy. The canopy id nice and large, and the material is strong, looks to hold up decently in the wind. It is an automatic opening umbrella, and it does so smoothly, although closing takes a tiny bit more effort, but still easy. Overall, I like it very much and will keep this in my car for when it is needed.

If you are like me, you have probably owned a bunch of cheap compact umbrellas. Some of mine have also been of the automatic open variety. They eventually end up in the discard heap of broken, bent, stuck stuff. I don't think that will happen with this one. I like an automatic opening umbrella. Even if you are carrying something else (computer bag or whatever), you can single-handedly (ha!) fling it open as you walk out onto a sidewalk. It feels pretty sturdy when open. It was also unexpectedly large. Usually these compact umbrellas are on the small side when open, but this one is pretty big. See the product photos, which I'd say are realistic about size. Stand back when opening it up, because this baby shoots open like a rocket. I wasn't sure how an umbrella could be both automatic open *and* automatic close. It seemed like it would violate some law of thermodynamics or something. It turns out when you press the button to close it (the same button you pressed to open it), it mostly collapses the cloth roof of the umbrella. You then manually pull that down until it clicks into place, ready for the next moonshot for opening. I like this umbrella and it's going right in my car door pocket. Is it worth $30? Well, you have to decide that for yourself. If it lasts as long as my first impression guesses it will, it'll save money compared to buying replacement cheapo umbrellas.
