I've tried, what seems like, a thousand mascaras. This is one of the best I've used. Here's the deal - it does clump up a bit. I find it makes my lashes have more volume and thickness. I like that look, so it's perfect. If you want something super natural, probably not the best. I find it doesn't flake on me too badly. Of course, if I sleep in it over night, sure, flakes galore. More of a 3.5. I would get waterproof next time, and I don’t like waterproof mascaras. It just smudges soooo easily. Looks good when you finally get it to stay put. Very dark black, nice separating brush, but does get clumpy if you try to do extra coats to fast since it is so wet.

There are only a couple of mascaras that don’t leave me looking like a raccoon by the middle of the day . This is definitely one of them. My eyes tear up often for whatever reason but I refuse to not wear mascara. My eyes look so much bigger and wider and actually make not only my face look better , but I swear that my hair style also looks better . I can wear hypnose all day and the mascara stays on my lashes . ... show more

Can we stop putting shelf worn damaged items into perfect exterior boxes and sending them out to the customer? This is the second one this week. Amz will likely not post this review as they don't like us talking about their innept packaging but I'm going to try! This is willful on the part of the seller. You have a raggedy item in your hand..you toss it in a box and send it? As for the mascara, 2 things.....this is not worth $16. It is the free sample size given out at Macys and Nordstroms. I can't justify that price for this tiny size. As a rule, the mascara itself in full size does give nice lift and buildable volume, some length. The twisty brush takes a minute to learn but after that...you have got lashes for days. In my experience it doesn't crumble or flake. I will not be buying what I thought was a true travel size, and I'll likely buy from a department store just to get the quality I'm after. ... show more
